FP+ and split stays

I started making FP+ at 4:45 this morning . Had tons of trouble. First it showed no FP+ available for any ride at any park.....then no days at all (like I was too far out).....then only me or me and people who aren't going on this trip. I got to me and DH. click, error, click do one step, error, click. error, error, error, do one step, error, rides picked , error , error, day done, wrong people , error , error,........repeat for over two hours.

Thought I had everything done but it wouldn't let me do the last day. And I only saw 5 of the 9 days I chose FP+ for. I talked to chat, she gave me number for tech. Spoke to tech, She can see all the FP but because I did all that clicking, it overwhelmed the system. They should show up soon. (An hour has gone by and they still aren't showing) But as far as the last day, it's because I have a split stay. Getting day 6 and 7 was an error in my favor.

So people who stay at one resort have an advantage over splits stays. I don't recall having this issue before. I spoke to two different people and they say the same thing.

I have never been so frustrated with this planning before.

Sorry to hear it.
Sadly, these kind of things are far too common.

It makes me so sad and close to tears. Am I really paying tons of money for this? For the first time, I'm swinging closer to the camp of instead of going every yr, but once in a blue moon.

And it's not that I'm upset that I didn't get mine train or whatever, but being told I can pick FP+ on this day and the system being so messed up. That is what is upsetting. It's like I paid you the money for a cookie, but you gave me an old shoe instead. I did nothing wrong, you have the money, I have the frustration.

The FP's just showed up in my account AND I was able to book that final day. You know the day I shouldn't be allowed to book because of the split stay. I'm going to print them out before they are gone again..

Why do you say you shouldn't be able to book because of the split stay? You should be able to book for the number of days for which you have tickets, starting 60 days in advance of your arrival at your first split-stay hotel. That's how it worked for us. As long as the hotels are back-to-back or overlapping, the system should consider them for setting your FP+ opening date.

The website did glitch out a lot... I found when it did strange things like not show all our party, I would just pick whomever it did show, book for them, and then copy to the other party members.

Glad they showed up! I do see days when the site does not show all our FPs, ADRs, or even Resort stays. Sometimes a few refreshes will get them to show up, other times I switch to the app.

They are not split stay friendly. I had trouble with booking ADRs. They make you work harder, despite staying at their resorts with no gaps and being all linked to the same MDE. They consider it separate reservations. Glad it worked out for you.

That is what two different people this morning told me. 60 days from first checkin date, and then 60 days from second checkin date. The fact I was able to book a couple of extra days was a computer error in my favor, or so I was told.

I didn't remember having to wait before and we almost always to split stays.

And as far as that day that I couldn't book.........I'm not sure how, but when the fast passes finally came up on my page, there were fast passes for NOV 3.......we don't arrive until the 29th. When I cancelled that day, I was able to book Dec 8.

Talking to tech this morning, they didn't say anything about a Nov 8 day.......

Part of the problem is that WDW does not acknowledge the concept of a split stay. To them it's just 2 separate room reservations.

I am doing a split stay with 9 days of tickets and had no issues when I made FP selections a few weeks ago. Now when making ADRs I could only do for the days at the first resort and then had to wait until 180 days of the second resort to do for the rest of the trip.
