Fourth of July in the parks

Has anyone been to Disney on July 4. This is our first trip over the holiday and I am wondering if the parks are just absolutely nuts on this day?

Hi,
We went over July 4th 2004 and yes it was crowded. We
still had a good time though. You will need to plan your
days and be there first thing. Use fastpass and it is very
doable. The extra fireworks are nice and fun.

I would say everyone else doing the parades then do the rides. Then catch the last of the fireworks. That was works for us.

Was it crowded the whole week or just for the day of the 4th? I am assuming the whole week. Thanks for the help.

Hi,

I was in the Magic Kingdom this past July 4th.....We always go in the busy season, but WOW! was it packed out! We just had to have the attitude that you wouldn't be able to do everything that day. We took advantage of the fast passes (although I don't think there were any left by early afternoon) and just relaxed and did what we could.

However, the 4th fireworks at the MK were Awesome! Just make sure you stake out a comfy place to watch them VERY early on and just have a snack while you wait. You don't want to be all the other people just walking back and forth because they can't find anywhere to stand!

Thanks for the info. With 3 little kids, we always go with the attitude of "we see what we see". Otherwise we would drive ourselves nuts!

We were in the World from July 3-11 last summer. We stayed at the Dolphin and did not to go any parks on July 4. We hung out at our resort and enjoyed the day. At night we were able to see the fireworks displays from both MGM and Epcot right from the Boardwalk area.

THe rest of the week was crowded but manageable. People who were there before the holiday said that week was more crowded.
