We arrived in Orlando on Wednesday night. Very good flight on American. Had upgraded to Main Cabin extra and had front row which meant lots of leg room. It was a new 777-300 (think thats right) and had the best entertainment I have ever had on a plane. Literally 100's of films including loads of classics. I honestly couldn't make my mind up.

Spent first night at Homewood Suites Lake Buena Vista. Have stayed there a couple fo times. Excellent hotel, we had a one bedroom suite. Room showing no signs of age. Good breakfast.

Then next morning drove to St Petes. I was so worried about getting lost but it was the easiest drive ever. Took me 2 hours but I was only going 60 or less. We are staying at Guy Harveys which is part of Tradewinds. Its right on the beach and very nice. We have a one bedroom suite again with a partial sea view which was a bonus as I hadn't booked one. The beach is beautiful and the sea is so warm, like stepping into a bath. In hindsight I would have tried to book a condo on the beach for more room. Its hard not to compare this resort to Bonnet Creek which is where we are staying next. The room is expensive but does include lots of amenities. Theres a massive inflatable slide which my son loves. We have been paddle boarding, had a floating cabana (which made me sea sick in about 15 minutes :confused3) so had to get off. Also get a beach caban included every day. One thing I never realised is that its way too hot to be outside on the beach in the afternoon. This is our 4th August in Florida and I have never found the heat an issue but this is just too hot.I guess in Orlando at the parks you are in and out of air con all day. So we have been spending 4 hours from 9 on the beach and at the pool, then lunch and a drive and relax in the room, popping down to the pool every now and then. Then back to our beach cabana in the evening. It really is a glorious beach but I dont think we would come in August again. October would be perfect.
So we are looking forward to our 18 nights at Bonnet Creek. We love it there. Our sons 14th birthday on 12th ( haven't bought him a present yet). We have tickets for all the parks, was meant to be taking it easy but after 4 days of not doing much I am glad we will be busy. My son wants to go to Typhoon Lagoon tomorrow which will be fun.
Will try to write more.

Thanks for you report from St Petes it's always good to hear about different experiences :beach:

As you are returning to WBC you can be our resident expert as it seems to be getting more popular - perhaps that's something to do with you!

Have a good trip back to Orlando and I hope you can post a bit more :thumbsup2
