Four teen-age boys - is HRH the obvious choice?

We will be taking our son and 3 friends to Universal next year for spring break. It's our first time and we will arrive at noon on Thursday and depart around 3 on Friday (heading to Port Canaveral for DCL when my vacation will start!).

My DH and I will not be doing the parks. SO is HRH the obvious choice to stay? Would you do club level with 4 teens?

And can the 4 teens (18 year olds) stay in a room without one of us? (If not, I vote for my husband to do the honors. )

We love the HRH. We have never stayed club level though. When we have gone with our two teen and their friends, we have gotten connecting rooms and they just keep the door closed. I always book the trip in my name and then give all the names of those traveling and we have never had any problems doing it this way.

If you are staying a total of 27 hours it really does not matter unless everyone is going to stay at the hotel for that time.

My DH and I will be spending the entire time at the hotel. Is it a good hotel for just hanging out and relaxing? I realize it's only a little more than 24 hours but we want to enjoy ourselves too!

Where can we get breakfast if we don't do club level?

There are two queen beds in each.

The rooms are good size. There are 2 queen beds, a chair and ottoman, a table in the corner and the TV/bureau. There is room in the room to put a roll away if you needed on - we got one on one of our trips. There is a mini-bar which we refuse the keys for since we have been charged in the past when we never used the minibar. There is a small Kurieg coffeemaker, a closet with a safe. The bathroom is two areas. There is a sink/mirror area outside the bathroom and then the bathroom with the toilet and tub/sink combo. That comes in handy since someone can be showering while others can use the sink to get ready. We usually reserve our rooms using a AAA discount. This year I called Loews directly and got the AAA discount through them and was told that because we booked a garden view we were guaranteed connecting rooms and we have always gotten connecting rooms without any trouble. The pool area at the HRH is really nice and it is relaxing to just sit and watch everything going on. The other thing that is nice is that HRH is about a 5 min walk to Universal and a few minutes more to IOA. If you aren't doing the parks you are also within a 5 minute walk to City Walk to browse in the shops and different things they have. If you are AAA members, all the restaurants and most shops in the parks and at City Walk give you a 10% discount.

I don't know about your son and his friends, but being 18 once, many years ago, my friends and I would have rather died than share a bed with another male. Thus the connecting rooms route seems to be the best route to go. In one room, you have one queen bed for you and your husband, and your son can have the second queen bed to himself. His three friends can have the second room. As the room is big enough for a rollaway, I'd bring in a rollaway for one boy, and that leaves a queen bed for each of the other boys.

And I just want to say, what you are doing for your son and his friends is very nice. And I just hope he and they appreciate what you are doing for them. And have a good trip.

Thanks, TexasKid! That is a good point. I will chat with my son and ask him how we should handle the sleeping arrangements. We are really looking forward to the trip - these are great kids and actually very fun to be around!
