My wife and I are taking a break from the kids and visiting WDW! It'll be her first, and I haven't been for 15 years. We usually visit Disneyland every year or two.

We'll be there March 2-5. Four days. We got a park hopper to maximize park time. We want to do as much as we can! I welcome your tips and feedback. We are staying at a Disney Springs hotel, and plan to either take the shuttle or Uber to start each day.

Our current plan is:

Monday: Plane arrives early AM, so it's a day to relax, visit Disney Springs

Tuesday: MK, and maybe park hop to Epcot for the last hour or two

Wednesday: AK until 5, then park hop to either Epcot or HS

Thursday: HS

Friday: MK, and maybe park hop to either Epcot or HS

I'd try to make a breakfast reservation at The Wave at the Contemporary the day you plan to rope drop MK. Taking a shuttle from an off-site resort or taking an Uber will drop you off at the TTC and that's just a giant pain. You can easily avoid it with a well-time reservation at the Contemporary and then walk over after you're done. You can do the same for your HS morning. If you want to get there early, then uber to Swan/Dolphin and just walk from there. Otherwise, you'll be held until the parking lots are open which in my experience has been about 45 minutes before park open.

To add onto this, I was planning on trying a mobile order/dining reservation and ubering to the Contemporary for the same reason - to rope drop MK. We scrapped the idea because you are only garneted entry with a sit down dining reservation, not a mobile order. Our bus arrived to MK around 8:00 am and the line for cars to get into the Contemporary was about 15 cars long and not moving. Others in our group arrived to MK by bus a few hours later and they said the line was still extremely long to get in.

So if you choose to go that route make sure you arrive very, very early as it could take a while to actually get into the resort. They opened the gates to MK around 8:10 the day we went for a scheduled9am opening. So if you truly want to rope drop make sure your dining reservation is as early as possible. They opened the MK parking lot as we were driving by around 8:00am.

Truthfully there isn't a foolproof plan for this, you just have to roll the dice and see where your choice gets you! Table service reservation at the Contemporary might be your best bet!

This is true. We've never encountered a long line to get past the guard shack at the Contemporary, but we've had a lot of success with the strategy. I guess you could also do Grand Floridian now that you can walk to MK from there as well -- or just take the monorail.
