Can anyone tell me if the Fountainview Cafe has reopened or if and when it will reopen?

OK, am I the only one interested in whether or not the Fountainview Cafe has reopened? Can anyone who has recently returned from WDW answer my question?

It was not open last week when I looked. It had a sign that directed people to go somewhere else, I don't remember where. I didn't know it was closed and I was sad!:)

Thanks for the information. My DW and I were sad about it, too. We liked having breakfast there after getting our Soarin' Fast Passes of course. ;)

I think the sign directs people the Sunshine Seasons food court at the Land. We are going to try it next visit in May if Fountainview has not reopened. Unfortunately, I am not certain that they plan to reopen it. :(

BTW, I like your signature about the 30 trips. In our house I was the one that was going "just this once" in 1988. We joined the DVC in 1995 after four more visits and I have lost count now, but it's gotta be close to 30, too. :thumbsup2

Since I posted this question, my DW DS and I had breakfast at Sunshine Seasons in The Land in May. I tried both the breakfast croissant (bacon, egg and cheese) and the platter. The food wasn't bad, but the atmosphere doesn't match that at Fountainview and the sandwich was not as good as the breakfast croissant pocket (egg, cheese, sausage and bacon) there.

If anyone has an update on Fountainview I would sure like to hear it. We will be back in December and we are hoping for a breakfast at FV Cafe. :goodvibes

Bump

I am still searching for an answer to my question. Has anyone out there have updated info?

I wouldn't hold out too much hope. The sign is still outside the building, and the restaurant still appears on Epcot maps but it looks pretty desolate inside. I was told last week that now that Sunshine Seasons serves breakfast Fountainview will not reopen. :sad1:

I read on another forum that its closed permanently and may be turned into an ice-cream parlour. Sorry.

It's coming back to life soon. There are pictures posted in another forum that show that it's being repurposed to become and ice cream shop. There are no details as to the complete menu or if it will still act partially as a bakery. With the lack of breakfast options at Epcot, I don't understand why they closed it down to begin with. :confused3 Maggie

At least it's going to be something. We used to love to sit there in the evening with a beverage and snack, and we'd watch the Fountain shows (Duh, maybe that's why they called it "Fountainview")

Thanks for the updates. This was always my favorite grab a croissant and Latte and plan the attack location. Any idea when it may reopen? We are going Sept 8-13 and hope it's open by then!

Actually, turning it into an ice cream parlour would not be so bad as long as they do it soon. I cannot understand how they can leave it closed for so long. I hope that it has reopened by the time of our December trip.

Thanks to all who responded!

As we were walking out of Epcot yesterday I pointed out to DH the large ice cream sign hanging over the door to Fountainview.
I did not walk over there to see any other signage, or if they were open, etc.
