Has anyone stayed at the fountains recently, I was wondering what numbers the new buildings were? The pool area looks great.

We stayed there in July. I don't know what the brand new rooms are numbered, but we were in building 7, and it was lovely. We could not get over how nice our room was. Fairly close to the new pool area, which is just awesome. It has 2 waterslides, a splash area for the little kids, and a bar/grille. They really did a nice job on that entire area.

I can't tell you how many times DS4 asked to go to that pool...while he was IN DISNEY WORLD! That was frustrating, but I think it's a testament to how nice the new pool area is...LOL!

I have been thinking about staying there as well. I was thinking about it for my Sept/Oct trip. Only draw back is that there is a lot of construction still going on and I am afraid it will be a mess. The RCI site does say that it will interfere with things....:upsidedow so I really do not know what I want to do.

We went to look at the new pool area, I would definately stay there. It was the biggest pool area I ever saw. Also, a nice area in pool for small children.
The construction was around the pool area, not the rooms.

Does the "dirt" fly into the pool area? I know this sounds nuts ;) but I really do not want to be sitting by the pool wet and having dirt on me.. yuk... then it becomes mud.
Reason I am asking is I have a screened in pool and the City is installing underground water/sewer utilites on my street. Dirt flies everywhere. It even got into my AC vents (and was causing sinus problems for us). When out by the pool, you get actual mud on you when you sit on the lounge chairs. You have to constantly wipe the dirt off of them. Everything is so dusty and dirty from it. They have finally paved our road back over and I really do not want to deal with the likes of that again, I dealt with it from the end of Sept to just recently!!!!

I just tried to access photobucket where I have the pics of the construction near my house with the "dirt" to show, but it isn't letting me get into it now. If I can later, I will post to show how much dirt flies when they are actually working right near where you are at.

I wish someone was at the Fountains now that would be able to report how bad the dirt is near the pool. :confused3

Here are two pictures. One is of the dirt when a car would go past (how it flies) the other is of my car at the end of the day from the construction. If this is anything like what the pool area might me, I would rather not stay there while it is under construction. I can deal with it better in the rooms since the dirt doesn't fly, but outside it does.

There is construction all around down in Orlando, it seems...but to tell you the truth, we had no problems with it. The pool area was very clean, not at all dirty, and there was no "dirt" flying through the air that we noticed. Majority of the construction was at the front of the resort, closer to I-Drive. The new pool is towards the back. There was an area near the new pool that they are working on, but they have construction "tarps" around the fencing, I am supposing to keep the dust down and to block the guest's view of the construction.

From what I read I was nervous about the construction, but we had no problems with it at all.

Also, our car was as clean as it was the day we checked in. No problems with that, either.

OK.. got my pics to work..
here is the reason why I am asking...Yes, I know there is construction all over Orlando. I am up there every six weeks or so. I just came home yesterday from a 5 night stay at the Clarion-Universal on Universal Blvd. I had wanted to stay in a condo for 7 nights but nothing panned out for me this trip. My next trip is Labor Day which a friend of mine is trying to get something in Bonnet Creek. The trip after that will be for 7 nights (hopefully) and that will be either 9/26 or 9/27. That is the one I am looking into staying at the Fountians. I have family arriving from NY staying 10 nights at Disney and I want to meet up with them.
Anyway.. back to dust and mud.... here are two pics that I have showing what my area was like. Yes, dirt flys... I had taken several because the City had shut my road down due to the construction and many who did not live here still used our roads. The City told me to take pic's and send to them.. so I did. I happen to save them on photobucket. I had wished I had some of my pool area to show you how dirty that got.. yuk.. it was filthy!!! It was honest to goodness mudd! This dirt was in my house for months... it came in thru vents, thru my doors each time they opened up. These construction workers worked Mon-Sat! It was like a war zone over here. On the side of my house, I had a huge dirt pile that must have been at least 2-3 stories high. They would get their fill from it. When it would rain, it would turn to mud and slide all over towards my lawn. There were pipes all over the place. Neighbors were compalining left and right. We even called the newspapers about how the company was handling the construction.

here are two more.. what you are seeing is actual dirt dust from the construction in these...it is not as thick as when the cars go by.. but still flies around. Like I said, I would not want to sit out at the pool if it was like this...

I guess the tarps worked.. as you can see from my pics.. on my car I have "dust" written.. we had no tarps when they were doing the work in my area.. ;) I do not care about looking at construction, I just do not want to breath it in... or sit on dirt ;)
