Hi all, as you can see, we stay 3 months just a few miles south of Disney and have looked for years for a small Mexican restaurant that is not a chain or just take out. Ate twice now at Vallarta Mexican Restaurant on Apopka-Vineland and loved it. I had the fajitas one night and Carne Azada the other. Von had Chimichanga. It was very good, the price was right, and it was a true small local operation.

It is located in a strip mall just north of Disney entrance about a mile. It is past the Sheraton and Country Inn and Suites on the east side of A-V road. Giordano's is right next door.
Enjoy...Ted

Thanks -- just made a note of it in my tips file for use for our upcoming trip to WDW.

We use the drycleaners in that same strip mall for our laundry. They also do wash & fold. We ate at the same Mexican restaurant. It was great. We are planning on going there again when we are down in Dec.

I wish we had eaten there instead of Chevys. We were very disappointed in our meal there and were staying at Cypress Point which is right next door! Thanks for the advice! We did eat at Giordano's one night and really enjoyed it!

Thanks, sounds just what I'm looking for. Very hard to get decent Mexican over here so we always seek out a fix when we're in the US :thumbsup2

Thanks, Ted. As a former Californian now stuck in the Midwest, I'm always on the lookout for something decent---and so far, have never encountered anything in Orlando that was any good at all.

I've been there as well last summer. The service was phenomenal, and the margaritas were really inexpensive and GOOD.

My kids really enjoyed it as well. We wound up sitting one night and getting take out the other night. It was very inexpensive for what you got.

From emerald island resort I know you are familiar what are the best directions if you don't mind.

Would love to try it next time we are down.

Hi, kind of depends on the traffic. From EI, take Sherberth or 192 into Disney entrance all the way through Disney past Downtown Disney to Apopka-Vineland...go left on A-V about a mile plus just past the Sheraton and Country Inn and it is right there on the right in a small mall.

Or take 192 to I-4 East, get off at Lake Buena Vista exit, go right on A-V road past Disney on the left a mile or so to Vallarta just past the Sheraton and Country Inn.

Had a great winter down here. Von worked a about 10 hours a week at Disney and loved it. She worked in gift shop at Coronado Springs. I worked at Mystic Dunes two days a week and it was just enough to keep us busy and active outside the parks.
I wish this retirement on all Disney lovers...Ted

Enjoy...Ted

Even though retirement is still a good 25-30 years off for me, my wife and I have already talked about the Disney Casual Regular Snowbird plan. ;)

Ted what rt. # is that if you do not mind? Is it the 535?

We will have to try this on our next visit. We have been to Giordano's many times but never paid much attention to the other places to eat there.

Hi Deb, Google maps say it is 535....I never really noticed as it was always Apopka-Vineland...Here is map link to the restaurant...looks like there are two restaurants in the area...enjoy...stay warm, spring is on the way...

If you look in those coupon books in all the stores and restaurants, there was a coupon for this place.

Im glad to hear that this place is still open. It sure beat the Sizzler, Stake and Shake and Giordano's!
