My girls each have one AG doll that they saved their money for. Last night I found an AG doll at Goodwill for $1.99. Now the last time this happened, I sold it on eBay. There was nothing in particular we liked about her. But this one has shoulder length curly golden brown hair like DD10. They don't currently have this style- we always looked in the catalogs for one like DD, just for fun, and there is never hair like hers. We are definitely keeping her. :lovestruc

Now DD13 had the catalogs out again, saying she wished she had another one besides Kit, one with long hair she can style...

I wish I could find one for her too. Too bad Goodwill is almost an hour away and I can't stalk it :rotfl:

get to know the store manager/volunteer maybe they can call you if one comes in?? worth a try!

Would hate to clue them in that they are of value! :rolleyes1

You're right... don't ever clue them in that something has value. I've noticed over the past couple of years that prices at Goodwill, Salvation Army and other thrift stores have gone up considerably. If they even suspect something has value, they will price it ridiculously high. One time, I saw what was supposed to be a Prada bag at Goodwill. They had it behind the counter and it was $50. I asked to see it --- the minute she took it down, I could see it was a fake, utterly and completely fake. I looked at it closely when she gave it to me and I confirmed it was a fake. I handed it back to her and told her it's a counterfeit and not worth $5, no less $50. She just shrugged her shoulders and put it back. (I feel sorry for anyone (IF anyone) who bought it)

Wow, I'm amazed that y'all find American Girls dolls at Goodwill.

My girls haven't played with their American Girls dolls in years . . . but they'd never give them away. They were such favorites.
