I've read some descriptions online about Fort Wilderness, and it seems pretty fun. Has anyone here ever stayed there?

I plan on going later on this year, and will be staying in a tent. Does anyone have any suggestions? What are the best times of the year to go? Anyone have any pictures of the campsites, or know a website or something where I can find some pictures?

I've always wanted to go camping, and I love Disney, so this seems like a great opportunity! Any help is greatly appreciated!

I can't really answer most of your questions but here it goes...

FW is great! I've stayed there quite a bit. Never in a tent though. Always in our fifth wheel or in the cabins. I think for camping there I would go in the fall, maybe Nov. The weather would be perfect. There's lots to do there without even leaving the resort. Nighttime sing along campfires while roasting marshmallows with Chip & Dale. Movie nights by the playground, with Chip & Dale. Bike rentals, segway tour, golf cart rentals, etc. It's a great resort.

As for pictures. My most recent pictures are from the mid '90s so I don't think that would be that helpful.

www.allearsnet.com & www.wdwinfo.com always has great pictures & information. That's where I go whenever I want more info on anything WDW.

Also, check this out...lots of photos...

There is a camping forum that I am sure will answer all of your questions.

That's funny. Isn't that the forum we're on?

This forum is super great for answering all of your questions and more. The sticky threads are great, and hanging around and listening in for a few weeks will have you ready to pack your bags in no time.

A website someone around here mentioned is disneycampers.com. It has a loop index that might be helpful and lots of pictures and other stuff.

But you can't beat using this forums search function to find things like threads about specific loops that people like or fishing regulations, etc.

Hmm I never go to this forum. What was I doing here??????? Aww I was reading a post that was moved to this forum and did not realize I guess. Did I make you stop and wonder where YOU were for a minute?:rolleyes1 Silly me.

Update: This was originally posted on the resorts forum, where I was when I replied. I am not crazy after all!

Thank you so much for all your responses! They're very helpful, especially the link to the thread with pictures (they answer a lot of questions I had about the sites themselves).

As a matter of fact, yes. I checked the header several times. Thanks for clearing that up
