Fort Wilderness questions

This will be my first time staying at Fort Wilderness right after thanksgiving for three nights, girls only trip. Looking for any suggestions on cabin choice. What special events happen at Fort Wilderness after Thanksgiving. My DS works for Disney and will be getting around with us. The day of our arrival we were thinking of getting around to see all of the Gingerbread houses, what is the best way to get to the hotels where they have these, yacht and beach, etc. Also we are using the Magical Express, do they put the luggage directly in our cabin or must we get it at some other place? Would the campfire be something a group of all adults would do, or is it mainly for families with young children? SOrry I posted this at Fort Wilderness site. I missed the idea of posting a new thread. so here it is.

The Christmas decoration will be up. As for the gingerbread house. First take the boat to CP and hop on the monorail to each hotel. Then after these hotels take a bus to either a park or market place and switch to a bus to Y&B . They will put your bags in your cabin not to worry. Campfire is great for all. I travel solo and enjoy all the fun. I choose the cabins when I need to crunch the dollars by making my own meals. Food is the 2nd most expensive cost at DW. As for cabin choice it really does not matter except if you want to be closer to one of the two pools.

We always requested a loop close to the settlement depot. This way we could walk to catch the resort buses and not have to use those inner buses.

thanks for the info about the loop to request. I will definitely do that, and we would enjoy the walk and not having to worry about the other buses would be great. Thanks.
