Fort Wilderness Question

I searched the boards / forums and could not find the answer to this question.

DW and I are making plans for buying an RV for travel and we were wondering because we are Disney fanatics whether Fort Wilderness offered a Monthly rate for guests staying for a month at a time?

Our thought is that we would spend the northern cold months on the road, couple of months in Florida (October, November and December) then a couple of months in the rest of the south (Texas, Arizona, California).

Any thoughts?

Try asking down below in the camping forum. I've only seen nightly rates but they might know more.

I think that the "winter settlers rate" was dropped last year. From the sounds of it I wouldnt expect it to be back soon.
I think that Disney has made a decision to cater to the typical (non full timer or seasonal) camper.
I would still call and ask, the worst they can say is no.

There was a winter settlers rate for several years and last year it was not offered. It was around $35/night when you stayed for 3 weeks or longer and it was offered in January and the beginning of February.

Never heard of a "monthly" rate. They did offer the Winter Settler's rate for a few years when things got extremely slow (January to mid-February), but that seems to be a thing of the past.

Business has picked up at WDW and Ft. Wilderness, in particular.

Whatever you do, book early because it is not unusual for them to be booked up on weekends by the locals even during the value season.

Thanks for all of the advice. We are just starting to look at these as options when we do make the purchase of an RV. We are actually trying to guage all of the places that we would go and could go and what the costs are.

We are currently DVC Owners, but we want to have some plans for later.
