We do a lot of weekend camping in our pop up at state parks but on our last 9 day Disney camping trip I found we enjoyed a lot of luxuries we normally don't use. For instance, we put extra padding under the mattress for a more comfy nights sleep. We also used all disposable dishes and silverware so we didn't have to dishes. We brought disposable coffee cups too so we could take our coffee with us to the marina or bus stop. (We normally try to be pretty green but enjoyed the convienence this time.)
As we have been talking about our next trip, I wondered what else we could do to make it more easy/fun. Oh and this time we will be taking a 19 month old.

So what "luxuries" do you splurge on for camping at the Fort?

We budget for more eating away from the camp than we do when roughing it in a State Park.:) Especially now that we are in a tent, eating our meals out makes the vacation a whole lot more a vacation!

Agree about eating out more - I try to only cook breakfast at the site and a few dinners. Also, doing laundry is great. We actually do alot less setup than we would at a state park since we don't spend that much time at the site.

Oh, almost forgot - the refillable mug so DH can get his morning coffee and I don't have to make it!

We do eat out more at WDW, be we out too much at home too.

Camping luxuries? We do a lot of dry camping, so having hook ups is nice. We have a generator and huge holding tanks, so we can dry camp for 4 or 5 days and not need anything but it's nice to not worry about conserving as much water or how much fuel do we have. I usually don't bother hooking up my sewer until we have been there 2 or 3 days because I forget I can. Even our state parks usually only have electricity.

Other than having the basics, I'd say all the things to do at the fort. The shows, boats, resort hopping. We spend a lot of time at the parks, but it's nice to take a day or 2 just to do the fun things the Fort has.

Our splurge would also be eating out. We also splurged on a golf cart.

we take our refillable mugs with us to the parks. we get a soda on the way and when it is empty we just hang them on our fanny packs. on the way back we get another soda.

we go out to eat a few times while we are vacationing. i would rather have ice cream for lunch than a meal when we are at disney. lol

the biggest luxury is definitely the mh. makes the drive a whole lot better. having a toilet and kitchen when you want or need it is the best thing ever. :)

We usually get a t-shirt appropriate for the year. It will be better if and when they restore Fort-specific souvenirs at the Trading Posts.

We don't set up as many extras, like our screen room. We always plan meals that can be cooked in the crock pot. It's so nice to play all day and have dinner ready when we get back to the camper.
