Fort Wilderness Carriage Ride Vs. Sleigh Ride?

Thinking that the carriage ride might at Fort Wilderness might be fun since I've always wanted to see the resort. Also, since we are planning a trip around Christmas, I thought the sleigh ride might be fun.

But, I'm trying to figure out other than the pin is worth the extra $35? The regular carriage ride is only $45 and is also 25 minutes long.

I looked at this too...
Do you mean the difference between the carriage ride during "regular season" vs Christmas time? Or are you referring to the wagon rides vs carriage rides?
We've never done either but, from what I understand, the wagon rides are a larger, open area that you ride on with other guests. I believe you sit on bales of hay. While the carriage/sleigh ride can fit 2 adults/3 children max and it's more of a private experience for your family.
Now whether you want to do either of those during Christmas time, or another time of year, I can't speak to. Sorry.
But I have heard good things about this during Halloween too. Apparently lots of campsites decorate then as well.
Hope this helps a little. Maybe the bump will catch the eye of someone who's done this. Good luck!

The sleigh ride was one of the highlights of our trip last December. Seeing all the Christmas decorations around the campsites was so much fun. I would gladly pay the extra to take the sleigh ride at Christmas again, but I don't think we would be interested in the regular carriage ride (without decorated campsites) even for half the cost. Completely worth it for our family!

The hay bales are on the Wagon ride which is like $5-$10.
The Carriage ride is $45. These are done at Fort Wilderness and Port Orleans.
The Sleigh ride is $79 and only available in December at FW.

Now I am not sure but I think they only do the Sleigh rides and Wagon rides at FW in December. If you want the Carriage ride in December you need to book that at Port Orleans Riverside.

I also seem to remember that they did a special Carriage ride in October for the Halloween season, but I think that is no more.

That makes sense:

Thanks everyone! I think the carriage ride sounds like a nice reprieve from the Christmas crowds.

I really miss the Haunted Carriage Rides with the Headless Horseman. If you had asked this question back in 2011 when it was still around, I would have gone with that. Btu sitting here today, I have to do with the sleigh ride.
