Hi Everyone! I will be on my SOLO vacation December 8 - 14. In my many visits to WDW, I have never even seen the camp ground. This time I was thinking of taking some time out just to see what it all looks like. I would imagine it would look
*So Different* from day and evening. Do you think that the people at the camp sites would have their spaces decorated with Christmas lights by December 9th? Should I go see what the camp grounds look like in the morning or the evening? I don't want to do the Hoop De Do, but I might possibly have a meal at the Trails End Buffet.

What time is the best time to visit the camp grounds ??

Thanks in Advance !

I'm sure some of the campers will have their sites decorated by the 8th. Most definatly go after dark since most of the decorations involve lights. Have a nice dinner at T.E. then stop at Crockets Tavern and get something to "keep you warm" and enjoy a nice stroll through the sites. The 300 loop usually has at least one "long timer" with lots of holiday spirit

Thanks! I think what I will do is take the boat to the camp ground after I leave the MK. I will explore the camp grounds, maybe go to Trail's End, then get the boat back to the MK. From there, I'll just get the bus back to my resort.

I can't wait !

We have gone to the HDD at that time of year for the past few years and love to see all the camper's decorations. I think you would enjoy seeing the camp grounds at night. JMHO :)

I rented a bike last year and toured the campgrounds. Many (almost all) of the campers had decorated their sites but what I enjoyed even more was that Disney had also contributed to the decorations. They have these huge displays placed all of the park. Mostly those big blow up things but with a holiday flair and include Disney charachters.

I found a couple of pics showing what just one corner looked like.

Unless those displays were at the Settlement, Meadows or Outpost area of the campground, they belonged to the "campers" not to Disney. Some people(my father included)set up huge displays every year at their campsite. Disney only deocorates in the "main" areas of the CG.

Really!? I thought it was Disney magic, but knowing that it's the guests that are making displays that elaborate makes me appreciate it even more. Thanks for telling me.

Yes, many people will have their sites decorated by then! One of our favorite things is to drive around at night (or more than one night!) to see everyone's decorations!! Lots of people go all out!

Oh My Gosh ! My eyes are almost misty thinking about seeing everyone's decorations at the camp sites. I really like the idea that the people themselves decorate - it makes for much individuality.

Go in the evening. We stay in December also and the camp is very decorated. Some people go all out in their decorations. This year we plan to do alot more. We go from December 6-16.

We are arriving at FW on 11/22/07 for 10 nights and plan on putting out our Christmas decorations on Friday - 11/23/07. The parks are crowded during Thanksgiving weekend, so we are going early to enjoy everyone's decorations and visit the other resorts. Plan on taking lot's of pictures.:woohoo:
