We are planning to go to Disney in August (after two failed trips in May and June 2020). We will have two extra days in between our Pop Century stay and our stay at the beach. I’ve been thinking about staying two nights at either Port Orleans Riverside, Caribbean Beach Resort or the Cabins at FW. One of these days would be a park day, but the other would be a resort day.

Please give me your opinions and advice on which hotel would be the best for a day spent around the resort. And if you have a suggestion not listed, I’m more than willing to consider it!

Thanks in advance!

The best resort for a resort day is the fort. As long as you budget for the golf cart it’s one of the best non park days you can have. Great pool, fun exploring around the fort with the cart and plenty of other things to do. Also easy access to magic via boat. Again the cart is key to have a really unique experience compared to the other resorts you are thinking about.

POR has a really nice feature pool. They also have the boat to Disney Springs. If you are interested in cooking your own meals, then a stay in the cabins at FW would be nice. But if you plan to eat at restaurants then I would stay at POR.

POR has a great pool, fishing, and the boat to Disney Springs and POFQ for beignets. I love it.
That said, at FW, don’t miss the Chip and Dale Campfire sing-along, or watching fireworks from the beach. Oh! And pony rides!
