Hi there . hopefully this is the right area for my post. We are spending a couple of days in the Fort Myers area as we make our way around Florida.

Are there any public beaches where you can rent chairs, towels, etc... so that we don't have to cart around extra items in the van.

Thanks very much for your help.

Typically you can buy those items cheaper than you can rent for a couple of days. Lots of people buy and then abandon them at the hotels and resorts, which will often save them for other guests.

Most public beaches will rent chairs and umbrellas, but they aren't cheap.

You can rent a umbrella and lounge chair at Junkanoos, it is part of Anthonys on the gulf restaurant. They will set your umbrella up on the beach. The sand is very difficult to set a umbrella in. They have a special device they screw into the sand to hold your umbrella. I'm sure you will like the set up. Sorry I can't remember the rates per day what ever it was it was worth it.
