Which one would you tour and why?? And do you get to go inside any of the buildings or dungeons??
TIA,

Hi, I am so bad at names, so I am not sure which is which for the forts, but we took the historical 2 hour city tour and it stopped at 2 forts, I believe they were the 2 forts you asked about.
One was pretty much a shell of a fort with a few cannons, the 2nd one had a guided tour and you did go down into the lower level to see the old rooms and such. It was a very good tour, it was short.
It is a big fort, most of which is still standing.

hope that helps you some, sorry I cant remember which is which, it has been awhile since we did the tour.

Fort Fincastle is up on a hill with a nice view of the Port where the ship docks. It is a small fort with cannons, but the highlight for us was the Queen's Staircase and the view.

We also enjoyed Fort Charlotte as you could go inside with a guide.

If I had to pick one, I would probably pick Fort Fincastle for the view. Lots of nice picture opportunities.

They both were interesting. It was nice to learn a little about the history of the area. Have a great trip!

Lanajayne,
thanks for clarifying which was which. It had just been to long ago to remember
We also enjoying learning about and seeing the Queen Anne's staircase. It felt awesome walking up them thinking about all who had passed before us up those stairs.

So at Fort Fincastle, you just walk around with no tour guide and don't get to go inside? At Fort Charlotte, do you get to go in the dungeons or just inside a building?

would you recommend that tour with a 4 year old? I'm scared she gets bored and ancy in the van...or would you just tour one of the Forts on our own? Would we have time to tour both Forts, go to Hard Rock Cafe and do some shopping?
