Former Lurker...now Newbie...with a couple of questions??

Hello Everyone! I've been lurking, think that's what it's called...been reading the boards for a few months now. You all are great!!!

I'm a huge Disney fan and am currently bringing up my 2 year old son to be an even bigger one I was lucky enough to go about once a year with my family as I was growing up so my DH and I are trying to keep up for our DS (sorry still trying to get the abbreviations down). DS has been to Disney 4times already and we're going back in late May and planning to again in September?!?! Am I nuts or what

Anyway, the September trip planning is leading to many questions? I'm a FL resident and this year we have AP's, but we've never done FD or the DDP for that matter. I've been reading so many wonderful things about it, I wanted to crunch the numbers?!?

Ok...my question already, my first post and already blabbing on and on

I know I have to buy the 1 day ticket in the package and I can ask that it be issued as separate media to save for another day (thanks all Disers for that info), however, I haven't seen anything about expiration dates for those? Does anyone know when those would expire?

Any other AP's out there think FD is worth the "extra" package compared to the AP room-only discount? Just want to get a second opinion or two or three dozen before I commit to spending all that $$$??

to figure out if it is worth it... you'll need a calculator and sit and do the math. The AP Discounts can vary by season and resort. Free Dining works out to be about a 40% discount give or take how well you can maximize the meals.

Yep, that was the only way to crunch the numbers for me. I worked it out and compared it to our best AP rate and food budget and with FD we're saving about $200!! Just booked our first FD, first ever DDP!!
