Former AP holders going through Disney withdrawals...a pre-trip report (with pics!)

I don't know anything about that stuff (planes and automobiles). My job is to plan the fun... DH is in charge of scheduleing the boring things like transportaion! :rotfl:

I do know that Disney recently sent me a "Free dining" promotion AND that the flights were cheaper than I've ever seen them (Portland to MCO was around $224 round trip) and even still I can't afford to go! :sad2:

Oh well! I will be getting a shiny new coat of paint on the homestead in a couple of weeks.. I"ll have to post that in my "woulda been a trip to WDW TR" LOL

I actually don't mind planning the boring stuff. I like trying to get the best deals I can on stuff.

Just for fun I went on orbitz to see how much plan tickets to MCO would be for us on the days we're going to SNA in January. $212. So not much different than the $222 to SNA. We're still going to try and go there in January 2010. We just love January traveling. But we want to put a brand new patio in our backyard and do some landscaping so who knows if we'll be able to afford it.

I love the picture of IASW all done up for Christmas. So pretty!!

Did you ever see the show at DL called Animazement? http://www.yesterland.com/animazement.html (you can also find clips of it on youtube) Anyway, I think I've mentioned before that was one of my favorite shows ever in the parks. One December trip with some friends, we were watching the show which is where the PFF is now.

During the show, the sun had set and when it was over, we walked out to find the Small World ride all lit up. OMG, it was so pretty. And the people we were with had never seen it and they were just so excited so that made it even more magical.

That is up there as one of my best visits to the parks. :goodvibes

Oh, and I just had to say about the Peter Pan ride, I think it's a cute ride and all, but I honestly don't understand why that line is always so freakin long!!! It's so annoying.

Funny you should ask!

We actually did some volunteer work this morning for our local animal aid shelter. We are the "ring crew" for an Dog Agility competition! Too cute!

I recommend you volunteer with dogs if you want to appease your dog need right now.

Personally, I cannot have a dog due to the fact that I don't have the patience or energy to give them what they need. They need ALOT more than I ever dreamed. I got my first puppy as an adult with two kids and had to give him away because he was too much for me. I tried 5 years later with an older (and what I truely thought was perfect) dog and STILL I was not able to deliver for him. I gave him to a lovely lesbian couple with no children who are spoiling him rotten. It was good for all parties!

I'm a mom and I'd say if you want kids you won't have time for a dog when you have a baby. Believe it or not, they take up ALL of your time. Every last 1/2 second of it.

But, I'm sure there are some who would disagree and priorities are different for everybody.

And I don't even want to go IN to the money. :sad2: whew.. that's a pocket load of cash right there.

Good luck and have fun whatever you chose!

I know lots of people do it and I wouldn't doubt your abilities for one minute. I'm just letting you know that SOME people cannot do it. And those people are like me. :rotfl2:

It's definitely so much fun to have a new little life around. I'd love to take one of the ADORABLE little kittens that were born to my neighbor across the street. Unfortunately, you can never predice whether or not an animal will do it's business where it's supposed to (a dog is somewhat...somewhat easier to train... as in they will at least try.. cats don't care how you feel about them!) so I just know that after taking care of the two cats that we have (and their combined potty accidents and the one cat getting hit by a car ($800)- I'm not willing to "hope things will work out"

I am definitely NOT saying that you shouldn't. Just venting my frustrations as to why I"m not gonna cause I REALLY want to!!! I do love little kittens A TON... cats too. *sigh*

Oh well.

But anyway, yea, I hope your doggy works out great if you get it!

Sometimes posts don't sound how I want them to. I'm trying to sound supportive but I may be sounding like a nag. That's not how I mean it, though! :headache: I actually laugh ALOT when I write. It may come off differently but whatever I say, I do mean it to be funny and silly. I hope that makes sense.

I'll shut up now. LOL

What a cute puppy! That first one is a cutie too, it's too bad that it shouldn't be placed in a home with young kids.

I hope you guys get her! She looks like a sweetie.

I think having a dog is great. I love mine SO incredibly much! They can always make you smile with a cute look and they will always be there for you. Yay for dogs!

Hi, just getting caught up on your TR here. Love it so far.

If you decide you want to pay for your air fair you should make sure your points are going to expire anytime soon. Wouldn't want you to lose them. My parents have the united card and I thought at one point they had mentioned that if you don't use them you lose them.

By the way, I don't see where you need to lose any weight ;)

Good luck with the :dog:. I love mine to pieces. She is a miniature pinscher that we got through min pin rescue & I cannot imagine our life without her.
Keep us posted & post a picture of your happy family when & if you bring her home.
P.S. gratitutous(?sp) picture of my baby, Bella

Cute photo!

I've been doing dog food research today. As this will be our first dog, it's all very confusing for me. I'm not exactly sure how to transition the dog into the food we decide to use. She's been on a mix at the shelter...but it's a mix of basic brands like Iams and Purina. I'm thinking about transitioning her into something with better ingredients like Wellness Super5 Mix Chicken. It seems to be rated pretty high. And it's sold at Petco, so that's a plus.

All of this stuff is a bit overwhelming.

Last night we went and bought some fun stuff - a few toys, a transfer kennel, and a dog bed.

Just stopping in to say hi!! I've never owned a dog so I can't offer any advice there, but I am loving all the cute doggie pics. :)

Thanks.

I went to see the dog again yesterday (and brought my mom along.) She was a good dog again so I'm pretty sure it wasn't a fluke that she was so good on Sunday. I think my DH and I are going to stop by there again today.

Awww, I'm glad you guys are getting her! :goodvibes

She is such a cutie, and she looks like a really nice dog. Lucy is a great name for her! Congratulations! :yay:
