If we opt for the casual dining venue (Beach Blanket or Topsiders) for dinner on formal night what would be appropriate attire?

Anything but swim suits and flip flops.

And this is a very sore, often-debated subject here, but many people show up in the main dining rooms in casual attire, even on formal night.

Thanks JDB:
I wasn't about to start a fire storm on that one  ....and we wanted to try the casual place one night anyway just wanted to make sure DH did not have to bring along his formal attire.

Literally whatever you want as long as it isn't swimwear is the correct response. The casual (BBB/Topsiders/Cabanas) venue is really appropriate for whatever you wish. Most will still be "cruise casual," but if shorts be your choice, it's not out of place here.
