I don't know if I'm being brave or just stupid. Probably a little of both!
I know I didn't get enough sleep last night and I think I've been spending a bit too much time on Cruise Critic but I was curious. So, what does everyone do after the formal dinner? Do you stay in your formal clothes, go swimming or just put on something a little more comfy to let the food digest?! After reading some of the discussions on the other boards, I took a closer look at the navigators. It does say formal evening. For me personally, we've done it all. We've gone swimming so of course we'd look a little silly in our formal wear. We've stayed in the formal clothes and we've put on our casual clothes to attend the shows and clubs! Please no judging (OK who am I kidding) I just want to know what other people have done. To be honest I just never paid attention before! From what I've been reading ~ TRADITIONAL CRUISING ~ meant you stayed in the formal clothing all night. But mainstream cruising has brought things to a more casual level and people will have their own opinions on whether that is a good thing or not. Whatever the opinion, I do think more casual is likely here to stay.
I also would like to hear the opinion of those who keep their children in formal wear all night. I did notice that almost all of the children were changed to casual wear once they entered the clubs. The only reason I noticed this was I saw two little girls in their beautiful dresses sitting on the basketball court trying to play a game. It stuck in my memory.
Let's play nice everyone. It's the sociologist in me that makes me very curious and I'm interested in opinions.
