HI :wave2::wave2:and welcome to my PTR pixiedust:pixiedust:
this is a very special trip as I will be going on with my Forever friend SUSIEprincess: and both of our families a total of16 people.yes you read that right 16 !!!!!! Susie, her hubby, son, and daughter in law. daughter and son in law, grandchild (12) grandchild (2) grandchild(6 mons) and my family me, hubby daughter, grandchild (6) daughter, son in law and grandchild (2 1/2)

We all love disney and have waited to go together for a long long time. We are planning on going July 3 (driving) arriving late afternoon of the July 4th, Sea world on July 5th checking into WDW on July 6th.

I am a little worried about the summer heat and the crowds, I only done WDW in Sept and Dec. But 2 are teachers and another, one get a shut down those weeks.

We are trying to figure out if single rooms our family suites would be the best value. Would really like to stay Art of A. Looking for a GREAt discount ( isn't everyone.) We do know a couple of CM form the college program not sure if they could help us. We will do the dining program, but not eat together every meal.
So any help or comments any one would like to give i greatly appreciatite it:):)
Thanks grace

Hi Grace !!Wow 16 people !!!!!The suites at AoA will sleep 6 so my guess is you would need 2 and a room !! or 3 suites !!! AoA is very colorful !! I was not however impressed by the Lobby or the food when I visited !! The Lobby is a little to BRIGHT for my liking , and unless they change the menu I was not impressed , the theminmg is however very impressive and the main pool is super !! Just to let you know the Mermaid section is the only one that is room only and it is the furthest from the main building , so suites would be closer .It is hot in July/ August soo make sure you all stay hydrated !! Will be following along as always

We Love the 60's , do you have preferred rooms ?? I like the 50's too , but Judy ONLY likes the 60's !!

Hi, Grace! :wave;

I made the first page!! :yay: Would have been here sooner, but did not realize you'd started your PTR - Rosie let me know because she knows I would not want to miss the planning fun!

Did you book std rooms at POP? While I love the 50's theme, after staying in bldg 5 (60's) std room, it became a new fave. It is soooo convenient - and with so many people it would be helpful to be close to everything. Be sure to have the reservations linked and request rooms close together in bldg 5. I think everyone will enjoy that location because it is quiet, close to food court/lobby/bus and the main pool and kiddie pool are both just on the other side of the bldg, easy to access but minus the noise. Although pool noise doesn't bother me, I know a lot of guests prefer a bit quieter location.

Your dining plans look GREAT!!!

What an exciting trip to plan...I will warn you that it is one of the busiest times of the year. It will be very hot and very crowded, so be sure to get out early and go back to swim when it gets hot and most crowded midday.:thumbsup2

We went just once that time of year - we arrived on July 1st and happy with the low crowds...then July 4th arrived and it was massive for the rest of the week...and it continues throughout July into early August. I've never seen such long lines. Not to be the bearer of bad news, but best to be prepared and know what to expect.::yes::

Looking forward to the planning!

Happy Easter!

Hi, Grace!

Building 5 is in the 60's - if you go to the first page of the Unofficial POP thread and scroll down to the map, you will see the 60's and bldg 5. Janet highlighted the room categories so you can see where the std rooms are in the 60's and why I prefer bldg 5. :)

Can you believe in 30 years of WDW visits (50+ stays) that I have only eaten at one of your ADRs? I've been to O'hana for breakfast and dinner - I preferred breakfast, but breakfast is my favorite meal of the day on vacation . Also, I do not eat any of the food at dinner, so I'm not a good guide. Sorry! :worried:

I'm not on Pinterest.....but am on FB, are you? Hope so because I would love to see pics of the grand kids! I can hardly believe Sophia will be 5 on Sept. 2! Time seems to evaporate.

Glad you are well - things are good here...just boring! :rotfl:

So happy you decided to do a PTR! Take good care!

Hi, Grace!

Sounds like you've some wonderful plans! How nice to relive special memories.:goodvibes

Sea World has a tkt for one day that includes all day dining? Wonder if this came from Disney offering a dining plan - sounds like fun.

I will pm my name for FB, then we can connect! My profile picture of Sophia...and my cover photo is yellow and kind of red Tulips.:thumbsup2

How is the trip binder coming along? I have never done one as we usually decide each night which park we will visit the next day.::yes::

TRIP NEWS:cool1:
We are looking into flying.. Not sure how i feel about this..
Some in family think it might be better and but not cheaper.. we had planed on renting 2 cars about $1000 and $700 gas. Found airfare $283each ( times 7) would still need a car for our 3 days in orlando ...

if we drive we would get a extra day AT Disneyparty:
It would just be my family flying my friend and her family would still drive. Sometimes it hard with so many opioions. I really would like to drive, it was part of my friend and mine fun together but somehow it will all work out.
Have a good night.
Grace

Hope you are feeling better Grace !!I have also been fighting a wicked cold this week !! We always fly, driving just takes soooo long !!This time when we went to Universal and SeaWorld we rented a vehicle !! Judy kinda like that!!

Hello, my friends!

Hope you are both feeling much better now.

Grace, sounds like your hubby had a nice birthday...and did you say 40th anniversary too? Congratulations!!!

Well, what a week it has been...the more things unfolded, the more connections with the bombers and even my friends came to light. Very sad connections...being this is a public forum I don't want to say too much...but a very close friend of my friend (got that?) ...her son was murdered on 9/11/11... the case has not been solved. Turns out the oldest bomber said several times that he had no American friends...seems he used to be best friends with my friend's son who was murdered...and it was after that when the older brother/ bomber began to get very austere in his religious beliefs. It is all so upsetting....

Anyway, on a happier note ::yes:: Grace, it has to be nuts trying to figure out to fly or drive!! How long would the drive be and would it save a lot of money? I am sure you'll be renting a car once there since you'll not be staying onsite.

I would be very tempted to drive if it can be done reasonably comfortably.:thumbsup2
