Disneyland Paris announces the arrival of a new show The Forest of Enchantment: A musical adventure Disney
Published December 28, 2015

As of February 10, 2016, Disneyland Paris will unveil a new show on the stage * Chaparral Theater, where Disney heroes and heroines celebrate nature in a new way. This show in the purest tradition of musical theater will be an opportunity for visitors to meet Disney characters at the heart of an enchanted forest, full of surprises. The spirits of the forest invite to an extraordinary journey on uplifting and energizing rhythms, announcing the imminent arrival of spring.

World exclusive, Disneyland Paris will offer its visitors to discover The Forest of Enchantment: A Disney musical adventure. Created in the spirit of Broadway musicals, this brand new musical will be played from February 10 to May 8, 2016 at Chaparral Theater in Frontierland located in Disneyland Park.

An original creation of Disneyland Paris

The Forest of Enchantment is a musical adventure Disney presented exclusively at Disneyland Paris. The history of this brand new musical show is rooted in an enchanted forest where joyful nature spirits celebrate the most beautiful Disney stories. Punctuated by a storyteller and over tables, the show reveals secrets of the forest through the stories of Pocahontas, from The Jungle Book, Tarzan, Rapunzel or Rebel.

In this show, Heroes Disney make a tribute to nature and the world of the forest. Alternately, Pocahontas and John Smith, Baloo and King Louie, Tarzan, Rapunzel and Flynn Rider without forgetting Merida appear on stage to resume live mythical songs of their films. Original creation of Disneyland Paris, The Forest of Enchantment reunited on stage beloved Disney Characters of Visitors.

This enchanted forest is populated by amazing joyful beings who guide the audience through the different stories. Singers, dancers and aerialists animate this new show. The sets are also part of the show: they evolve over stories carried by the spirits of the forest, prompting viewers to discover new worlds, as if they were turning the pages of a pop-up book.

Christophe Leclercq, Director Performing Scene, wanted to design a special atmosphere where visitors will be immersed in the heart of an enchanted forest. Choosing the scene Chaparral Theater in the heart of Frontierland, is not insignificant, "we wanted to offer a story with a strong connection with nature and the forest. So Chaparral Theater has quickly established itself as the perfect place. "

Music plays a predominant place in the Forest of Enchantment: A Disney musical adventure. "The most famous songs of the films are part of the show. But we also wanted to show that it vibrates to the rhythm of a composition of original song, written in the spirit of Broadway musicals, "says Christophe Leclercq. Interpreted live, the show's songs lead the audience into a joyous and enchanting universe.

A creative team bringing together talent from New York, Los Angeles and Paris

To mount this new musical adventure, Christophe Leclercq surrounded himself with talent from Broadway, Los Angeles and Paris. When he imagined the scenery with Yves Ollier, scenographer, he was inspired by pop-up books where each page turned reveals new surprises.

So he naturally turned to Matthew Reinhart. Based in New York, this writer and illustrator has made pop-up books his specialty. He was involved in set design, allowing to let live on stage an open book where nature has reasserted itself.

The musical universe was developed by Vasile Şirli, Director of Music for Disneyland Paris, in collaboration with Gordon and Lisa Goodwin. This couple of famous American composers of Los Angeles and winner of a Grammy Award, wrote the original song of the show, true to their "Jazz Swing" style. They also re-orchestrated the most famous songs from Disney cartoons that will be interpreted in the show.

Spirits of the Forest of Enchantment: A musical adventure Disney represent allegories of nature and move around the storyteller and Disney characters. Their movements must be close to animals or plants that inhabit the forest. The choreography and acrobatics were entrusted to Carolina Roelands (choreography), Florence Delahaye (aerial choreography) and Yohann Benhamou (acrobatics). These three artists participated in musicals Off-Broadway, in Paris or the Cirque du Soleil.

The Forest of Enchantment: A Disney musical adventure thus meets all the know-how from Disneyland Paris and international artists, offering a unique show of its kind.

From February 10 to May 8, 2016, The Forest of Enchantment: A Disney musical adventure will be offered five times a day, 7 days out of 7 in Chaparral Theater in the heart of Frontierland in Disneyland Park.

This sounds lovely. The second I saw the name of it I thought of Merida and the wisps, so I am glad she is making an appearance in there. We will just catch it as we will be there May 2nd to 6th. I'm delighted there's something new to look forward to since some of our favourite rides will be closed.

Wow - this sounds fantastic! We're going for our first trip at the end of February, so we'll be sure to try and catch this one :) Excuse my ignorance, as we've never visited the parks in France before, but would the show be offered in English also?

Yes it will either be done in both languages at the same time or they will have separate show times for an english version and a French version :)
