We have a 2005, and love it. Perfect size for us and the seats fold down in a snap for large hauls or if we decide to take all our dogs somewhere. Very smooth ride! Couldn't be more pleased!!
I have a 2002 Escape and absolutely love it! It is just the right size for me. My mom just got a 2005 and there really isn't much difference. I like that they feel like big safe cars but you can still park in compact spaces.
I have an '05 and i also love it!!! I downgraded from a Suburban and it's almost like driving a car. I really like how it's higher though.
We just took it on a trip to CA and it was great driving and room-wise. How the seats fold down is awesome too. The only thing i've noticed is that my gas tank seems a LOT smaller than the suburban!
We looked at the Escape, but went with the Honda CR-V, which is a very similar vehicle. The CR-V felt less cramped to us, and also, we felt that a Honda had better reliability than a Ford. I do like the looks of the Escape better, though!!
Its funny you mentioned the Mazda Tribute. I've always liked that SUV too. It's more expensive than the Escape. I also like the Honda CR-V but that is definitely out of our price range. The used CRV's are going for $17,000 + .The Escape seems more economical ?
My best friend has an Escape and loves it. I looked into the new Limited model and it's really loaded for the price. I'm glad to see it's getting good reviews.
I have a 2004 Escape. We got it after trading in our van. I was afraid I would miss the room of the van but the Escape is a perfect size. We went to IKEA for furniture for DD's apartment. Got a double bed, mattress and a desk in the back once the back row seats were down. Love driving it. Wouldn't trade it for anything.
