We are looking to change our San Diego to Vancouver and cancel our Hawaii to Vancouver cruises due to the uncertainty regarding entering Canada and then getting back home again.

So we are thinking of taking a DCL cruise out of Miami instead.

Before we make the change, we are wondering if Disney has been denied disembarking passengers on Castaway Cay or Nassau in 2022?

thanks for any insights you have on this

There was one sailing where they were almost denied boarding. The government of the Bahamas relented and approved the sailing.

Correct--that was across cruise lines: multiple ships from different lines were delayed at their private islands and couldn't let passengers off for a couple of hours while the cruise lines sorted it out with the Bahamas. But it worked out in the end.

I thought there was one other line denied docking at their private island (but it was just one ship on one occasion), MSC I think?

Thanks everyone!! This makes us feel better about changing our cruise to the Bahamas. We had cruises in 2020 and 2021 cancelled and moved and we are looking forward to being on one of the ships again.

Our last cruise was 2018 NYC to Quebec. Needless to say, we have been going through DCL withdrawals!!

Yep! We did the same thing—switched to a bahamas cruise for 2022. Bahamas seems like the safest bet in a time of a lot of uncertainty.
