For you purse lovers - Do you carry one with you when you cruise?

Clutch at dinner and a zip tote for port days. Haven't had the need to carry a purse while on the ship the rest of the time since everything gets charged to the KTTW card, camera around the neck, and we hand carry the wave phone if DD is in the club.

First time cruiser, leaving on the Dream, 5/4. Not bringing one of my Disney D&B's hadn't occurred to me. I guess I have to rethink the cruise purse strategy. Kinda torn since we head to the Parks directly after. I do have one of those Pacsafe wire mesh metal backpack protectors that I could drop a handbag into, but it feels weird to use it at Disney. It screams, I don't trust you. You lock the whole contraption to a large stationery object. I only use when we travel internationally.

For our last Alaska Disney cruise, I didn't use a purse, and just put my room key in a pocket. When I came home, I realized, I didn't take many pictures while on ship (maybe 10). So for our upcoming Fall cruise, I'm taking a small crossbody bag. It will be small, just to fit my camera, room key, sunglasses etc. Hopefully, it will be comfortable and convenient.

You aren't travelling internationally on the Dream?

I don't want to take my Disney Dooney on vacation, the satchel is just to big. I usually take a crossbody on vacation, but I don't have a Dooney crossbody and I plan on being the first person in line when the store opens on Embarkation day. I was too late last cruise and they were sold out:(

I don't usually carry a purse once on board, but I do need to carry a string backpack, except to dinner. I have medication I need to take with meals, so if I don't have a pocket, I'll have a little something to hold a couple of items. I also have a purse that attaches to my belt and hooks onto a belt loop for extra safety. It's usually for my phone, but it can act as a "pocket" when needed.

I use a cross body LeSportsac Kasey. Bought it for my cruise last year and now use it all summer long!

I have a small Spartina 449 crossbody that I used last cruise and LOVE it but they just opened up a Vera Bradley outlet store here and I picked up a mini crossbody. Decisions decisions I guess I will have to take both! They are just big enough for my phone (the wave phone too if needed), hand sanitizer, chap stick and my KTTW card. Then I bought a KYSS bag to use in St. Thomas and CC. Not sure about San Juan yet. I have a Disney Vera back pack I might take for that day.

I typically have a tote-style purse as my everyday purse, but I am leaving those behind in favor of a backpack. I have a Samsonite backpack that I use on port days and to travel with. I also have a Samsonite shoulder bag that i use to carry things. Those are my two carryons and I would never check my purse(s) for fear of them getting stolen by TSA. And yes, it happens a lot!

For dinners, I like to have a pretty little dinner clutch, so I am packing 4 for our 14 night cruise. Ya know, because I have to share with my 4 year old daughter. :-)

Since having a pair of reading glasses is now essential to reading menus, I always use my cross-body for meal times (with reading classes, camera, phone or wave phone, etc). If I'm just running up for a soda, I will grab my lanyard and leave the rest of the stuff in the room. Although I always try to have at least my phone with me (in my pocket) because I never want to be out-and-about without a camera. Some of the best photos are those chance meetings in the hallways ;)

Doh! We stop to Nassau and CC. I guess that is international. LOL!

Wait..what? There's a store? A Dooney store on board? I could be in trouble....

Dooney and Vera are sold in Whitecaps on board. There are walk through videos on You Tube too. :)

I love my Disney Dooney purses, and I carried my regular Disney one throughout Disney World last October. I purchased a Dooney Aulani purse in Hawaii in February and was so excited and needed to carry it right away. My plan is purchase a Dooney cruise purse on our November cruise, and I am sure I will be tempted to carry it somewhat on the trip to break it in. Ha! I carry a tote so I end up with all of my husband and son's stuff too. I can see why I would not want it everywhere I go, so will plan on a lanyard or simple way to carry ID, credit card etc. too on the cruise.

Also last cruise when I got my Fantasy Dooney I went right after dinner the first night and made them bring several out of their "stock" so I could pick the one I wanted based on how the design was on the front of the bag. Hey if I am spending that much I want to get the one I want right?! They were more than happy to help me :)

I carry a different type of bag, not a purse with me at all times. I have to have it for my camera
as I don't want to carry it around my neck all the time. I may lock the bag up while walking around the ship
and just carry my camera. I'm afraid if I don't have my camera I will miss something important:flower1::D

I used a small cross body to carry my phone (doubled as my camera), Chapstick, sunglasses, hand sanitizer, and a copy of the navigator. Most of my outfits didn't have pockets, and I despise lanyards so my KTTW card was in the cross-body too. I had a beach tote for sitting by the pool with my kindle, sunscreen, etc. I also brought one pretty clutch that I used for my evening at Remy (more fashion than function!). I adore purses but the cross body was great. A wristlet might have worked well too.

I do the exact same thing...carry a small cross body with just enough room for the essentials while I'm on the ship. I hate lanyards! They drive me bonkers. I travel with a larger cross body and that gets tucked away in a suitcase for the cruise. I also have Vera Bradley tote that works great beside the pool or for excursions. It's big one and can get too heavy really quickly since it has so much room.

I do have a rolling beach bag that I might consider bringing this next cruise...I had even considered until I saw something above in this thread!

While on the ship I usually use pockets or the DCL lanyard. For excursions (doing Alaska this summer), I'll bring a small crossbody as I don't like to be weighted down while sightseeing/shopping.

I did carry my purse (which also happens to be a Disney D&B - got many complements on the cruise) to dining rooms, character meets and other activities on the ship, and for walking around town at the port stops just like having a purse in everyday life. While I didn't need a wallet during most of the time on the ship, the purse still held my camera, my kid's autograph book, wave phone/iphone, personal navigator/map, sunglasses, tissues, random new purchases, etc. and was immensely useful.

The only places I didn't take my purse to was the pool and the beach. To the beach I brought a rolling grocery tote (for snorkeling gear and beach toys etc.), which worked out great. I also have a waterproof iphone case that worked flawlessly for going swimming in the pool and snorkeling in the ocean - the iphone served as both camera and timepiece (and never got wet!), and I was able to also carry our KTTW cards in the same case.
