For Winnipeg people - flying out of US?

While living in Winnipeg, is it possible to drive to the US and fly out of there? If so, where from, and which airlines have the best flights???

I live about 4 hours east of Winnipeg in Emo, ON. We drive all the way to Minneapolis, MN (about 5 hours) and fly with whichever airline has the best deal. We are not picky, it is a short flight and we like to save our money for Disney! My husband and myself and our 6 (yes six) children fly to Florida for only $1800. usd! The flights are usually the cheapest part of our trip. Much less than flying from Canada even with the exchange and the gas money and time to get there.

We've never drove down to the states and flown from there. I've noticed Grand Forks advertising its airport in the paper. Maybe check out and compare airfares between Grand Forks, Fargo & Minneapolis using Expedia.ca


Last time we flew we went with Westjet thru Toronto. The flights were nice but the between flight dash was not worth the stress.

Next time we're driving.
