For those with uncommon first names or unusual spellings of first names

I named my dd(7) Ashlynn, a lot of times people will ask her name, she'll tell them very clearly and they turn around and say "well hello Ashley" and she just looks at me and says..."she called me Ashley"...people do it all the time she's so use to it, she doesn't even say anything anymore....My sister has a common name but spelled different it's Stefanie, so every time she has to give her name she says Stef with an F, everyone just assumes it's with a PH....

I have one of those hard to spell/hard to say names. I usually get called Kristen when folks read it. I'm used to it. My criteria for our 2 dd's names was "easy to say, easy to spell." I'd much rather expend my energy on something more interesting than constantly correcting a name.
