For those who've eaten at The Brown Derby...

This is a must-do for us. When they have the oyster brie soup on the menu you know it isn't from a can.

My DH eats steak anywhere and everywhere and on the last trip he thought the cowboy rib eye was better the Le Cellier's filet.

The braised short rib appetizer was on the small side.

On one trip with my Dad he thought the Cobb Salad was too wet.

I go there fairly often (every other month or so) for lunch for the Cobb salad. If I was on the Dining Plan, it would be a horrible value, but I'm not -- I use DDE/TiW -- so it's a great deal for me.

I would and have done it several times. The food is great and I love the atmosphere.

I ate there for the first time last week. The food was wonderful, we had excellent service, and I look forward to eating there again. The oyster & brie soup is to die for, and I thoroughly enjoyed the pork tenderloin as well. That said, I absolutely wouldn't do it on the DP.

We've been there many times. It's one of my husband's favorite places to eat. The food is usually good. The atmosphere is nice. It is expensive and I don't really have a favorite "must have menu item" from there, but it is in our opinion the best food in that park.

I used to REALLY like the Brown Derby when it first opened. Nice and quiet, piano player playing , an occasional street character stopping in. Good food and service. The Catwalk Lounge upstairs to quietly have a drink.
Fantasmic changed all of that. Now it's a rushed, loud restaurant full of kids.

I'd go back I suppose, but only if IT went back to the restaurant it used to be. The last time we ate there they had substitited a pork chop for the pork tenderloin, and completely forgot to put any French dressing on the Cobb salad.

Would you do it again? :cloud9:

Definately. My Dh and I had lunch there this past Wednesday and in my humble opinion it is the best restaurant in Hollywood Studios. We eat there every time we go there and the service is always excellent and the food has always been very good. We enjoy sitting down and relaxing and having a great meal after running around for a few hours at the park.

We love it, were lucky enough to get into the Bamboo Room last week. Best dinner of our trip.

Yep, we'll go back every trip.

Nope, not a chance. Waste of money and time. Most of the food was horrible. The cobb salad looked prechewed and tasted totally disgusting. We questioned whether our grapefruit cake was from the ORIGINAL Brown Derby in LA back when it opened. The venison sausage was the best thing on the menu and there wasn't enough of it. The duck was so-so. I've definitely had better. Our waiter completely forgot about us and they tried to bring us the wrong food. Even the people next to us were commenting that there was no way they would come back.

Not sure if this will change anyone's minds, but we had dinner at Coral Reef last Fri 12/12 and was told the manager, Debbie, was moving on to manage the Brown Derby. I can only tell you my experience at Coral Reef was awesome. We had the personalized menus and it added to our enjoyment. I think if anyone can make the reputation of the Brown Derby improve, it would be her.
