? for those who've been to WDW and DLParis

In fact, I think DLP serves itself well as an eye opener. My In laws had never left the UK before because they were frightened about the cultural and language issues elsewhere (they can probably count the number of times they have been to London on two hands despite living only 60 miles north of the city). It is shocking to me as I have travelled extensively my whole life.

But they were interested enough to go to DLP. Although they found some of the food, people and cultures to be "funny" (ggggggrrrrrrr - annoys me), it inspired them to travel to other places out of the UK.

I think DLP makes for a "safe" base for people who are a little nervous. The hotels are good quality (not always guaranteed in the city), clean, safe, and it's easy to access the local tourist sites.

BTW - hotel comparisons:

Davy Crockett Ranch = Fort Wilderness on a smaller scale
Santa Fe/Cheyenne = All Stars/Pop Century
Sequoia Lodge = Port Orleans meets Wilderness Lodge (closer to PO)
Newport Bay Club = Caribbean Beach meets Yacht Club - looks alot like the Yacht Club but still a moderate (I think the Holiday Inn is equal in quality)
Hotel New York = smaller scale Swan and Dolphin
Disneyland Hotel = smaller scale Grand Floridian

My fav if staying for a long time and touring is the Marriott Vacation Club on the golf course - 2 bedroom villas with full kitchens and TVs in every room, as well as washers and dryers and 5* SPA facilities in the clubhouse. It is similar to DVC.
