For those who used a 40% off code, can we change our ressie to a different resort?

Not sure if we could do this but I'll ask some of you experts.

We received a 40% off code and rooms had to be booked by March 31st to take advantage of the offer. So we booked 2 rooms at AKL.

If we wanted to change our ressie to a different resort, could we do that even though it's after March 31st, and have the 40% off still apply?

We must have the same code. I was told that as long as you're upgrading or making a "lateral" move in resorts, it would be fine. We're booked into Pop and trying to get DxL for Dec. 11-15. The problem is, with our code, there is *nothing* available anywhere. No mods, not even any deluxes except for BC/YC. They told me to just keep calling first thing every morning and hope someone cancels.

Where were you trying to move to?

Thanks for the post. I was wondering the same thing. I got a room at Pt. Orleans which we would be very happy with. However, with the 40% off being such a nice savings it would be a good opportunity to try the Poly or Contemporary as we would like to be on the monorail line.

Well, I was actually contemplating moving us to POP. It would save us about $620 per room, but if we could only make a lateral move in resorts, then I guess we'll stay where we are.

Interesting that you said there wasn't anything available with your code. I called reservations on March 31st to find out what was left that could be booked using our email code (for our dates of Dec 9 - 16), and the CM told me there were still rooms available at CBR, BC, YC, and BW.

This was yesterday when I called, so I guess CBR booked up since then. They must have only had a room or two allocated to that code left. YC/BC were the ones she said had availability left, and I guess BW -- those three are all the same to me. I do know that WL, AKL, and the Poly had no rooms left for that code (not like we can do a deluxe anyway.)

As far as the lateral move rule goes, that was just what that one CM told me. Heaven knows if you ask 5 of them, you'll get 5 different answers!!
