For those who travel through Portland ME

We are looking for a place to stay before flying out the next day. Doesn't have to be a park and fly. Any recommendations?

Would like to know this too ?W e are flying out of Portland me next weekend but we might drive down the saturday of our flight ( Unless the weather is bad then we will leave friday after DD gets out of school ) as our flight is not till 3:00pm but will need a hotel on the way home .

We stayed at Holiday Inn and Suites, South Portland in August . Because we drove from Halifax, we stayed the night before we flew out.

It worked out well becuase parking at the airport was between $7.00-$12.00 a day, and we were able to leave our car at the hotel (free up to 8 days...I think) and take the hotel shuttle to the airport . On the way home, we arrived early enough we were able to retrieve our car from the hotel and continue on to NB.

This hotel also included a really nice hot breakfast and is close to a Tim Horton's and restaurants.

I think we paid around $130.00 (gov't rate) but when you factor in a free breakfast and free place to park the car, the hotel was a deal.

Thumps up to the HI Express in South Portland, Great motel. There's also a HoJo's just off the interstate that gives up to 14 days free parking and is very close to jet port.

There are tons of motels, and most of them are good.

We stayed at Howard Johnson's in Portland. Nice Hotel with a free park and fly program. They even shuttle you to and from the airport. You just call them when you get back! We were on vacation a month. They kept my car free the entire time!

We paid about $75 for the room....

I've stayed at the DoubleTree there and loved it I wasn't flying so I never looked into park and fly options.

I've also stayed at the Holiday Inn that's closer to downtown and enjoyed it as well. Probably not the most convenient to the airport though.
