I know there have been a lot of code questions lately, but please bear with me for one more. I probably could have found this through search, if the search function was not still disabled. Mousesavers can give me the historical dates of codes, but the not history of the actual discount rates. So, after all that, now my actual question: if you got a code rate for May 2002 can you tell me what your actual rate was, for what resort, and also what kind of code it was (i.e., AP, general discount code available to anyone, special state code, etc)?

I had been hoping to rent points from a DVC member for BCV for our 5/7-5/14 trip, but the member I was working with checked and there is no studio availability for the (full week) we will be there, and no availability at BWV either. Ugh! Now I am back to square one with my planning. I'm trying to figure out the financial impacts, and trying to do some gestimating (okay, so I know that's really not a word!) in that process. Anyone have a crystal ball? lol!

Thanks in advance!

I got a general code on Mousesavers that anyone could use. It was for $129 for a standard at AKL. We ended up getting an upgrade to Savannah though so the $129 a night was a great deal!

We had WL woods view for $159.84 including tax ($144 before tax) using a public code. The AP rate was actually higher. I have a list somewhere of most of the resorts and prices that I made when we were deciding. I will post some prices if I can locate it.

Comparing prices to last year may give you an idea but I just want to say that last winter/spring attendance was VERY low at WDW mainly because of 9/11. Not many people were flying so specials were to be had. This year may be different, maybe not. AP rates and discount codes were out early in winter of 2001/2002. I'm also interested in a discount for May but not counting on it being as low as last years. But still keeping my fingers crossed!

Did you inquire about WLV availability during that week?? Don't know if the theming of that resort would appeal to you or not, but we loved it when we stayed there. That being said, we'll be at BCV (which we also love) 5/15-5/21. We'd tried to reserve a studio during the first week of May and it was completely booked at BCV but not WLV... Just a thought.

I would imagine that the discounts (which will hopefully be coming out soon) will be at least 35% off the regular rate. I think the rack rate for standard rooms at the moderates, for example, during this time period is $144, so that would mean about $94 plus 11.5% tax, bringing it to a grand total of about $105 a night... Pretty good deal! Not sure about the prices for the All Stars or deluxes -- or if discounts would be available for all the properties. As I recall from last year, the best deals for the deluxes were at AKL and WL.

Hope this is somewhat helpful... Good luck! :)

If the current ap rates through April 9 are 40% off rack ( I checked the Poly and AKL) and they seem to be.

Would it be a good assumption that regular season which starts April 27, will also be about 40%?

I paid 99.00 a night last May for CBR with/code

I got the $129 a night standard view at the AKL with the general code rate. I also got an upgrade to savannah view. :)

We stayed at the Boardwalk Inn last year from 4/21 to 5/02 and used one of the codes from mousesavers. It was actually a bit less than using an AP rate.It came out to $243 a night including the tax which makes it about $219 a night. This was for a standard room so it was a savings of about $1100 over the rack rate. Last year 4/21 was the beginning of Regular season and the date which AP and code rates began. I wish that the historical page listed the actual rates...its helps for planning and budgeting in the future. Thanks for asking the question....I got to look over all my receipts from our trip and remembered all the Magic!!!

I used the CIF code, that anyone could get. POR - $104.34 a night, incl tax.
