For those who near Dallas, TX are you a soccer fan and if not, would the MLS team's renovated stadium make you want to attend a match in the future?

I am not a professional soccer fan, but I have been to the Toyota Stadium for professional soccer games, concerts, and high school football games. I lived in Frisco for 18+ years, it was close and very convenient.

The stadium is very nice, but the biggest problem is that it was built below ground level with zero breeze. I am 100% in favor of enclosing it and having some shade. I have avoided going to Toyota Stadium when possible b/c it is freaking hot.

Too bad they won't capture any of the World Cup visitors, but maybe they will host some special events?

It has the US Soccer Hall of Fame and Dallas is one of the WC cities. There will definitely be fan events all over the state.

I thought my brother had said that Frisco would host some games, but I apparently misunderstood b/c that stadium is not listed on the World Cup website.

I am quite amused that Jerry's World is going to have to undergo renovations to accommodate a soccer field. In his infinite wisdom, he refused to consider designing the stadium to accommodate a soccer field.

Texas will be hosting the most matches. Met Life is getting the final. SoFi stadium is getting Team 🇺🇸 opening match. My 2026 thread has all the details. If you are interested in tickets, you need to register on the FIFA website to be included in the ticket allotment.

I personally am not interested, but my brother is 100% in. He and both of his sons played/play competitive soccer and are very excited that WC is coming to the Americas.
