We are planning on a trip for Oct with our 3 month old. I imagine sitting at the pool with him parked in his stroller or in his chair under an umbrella. Am I delusional or is this normal?

we are going next month with our baby who will be just three months too. We are totally normal people! The trip is a big extended family thing, and we are planning to just take each day as it comes--we may spend most of our time at the resort and that's OK with us. Plenty of people think we're crazy though!

We're going in Oct too and our baby will be almost 10 months old. I had to convince DH at first, but now he's excited too. We are going to stay 8 days and just take things as they come - probably take a lot more hotel breaks. But Oct is a good time to go - won't be too hot for the little guy and he can take naps in his stroller too.

We will also be there late Sept/early Oct with our 3 month old. It is such an easy age to take him. We took DD#2 when she was 2.5 months old and it really was not bad at all. One thing that really made it easy is that I nursed her so no bottles to lug around. Have fun!

I took DS starting at 4 months to Disney's Vero Beach. We sat under the umbrella by the pool, just as you describe!

I dont' think you are delusional at all.

This is what we do with our youngin's in Florida ;)

Have a great trip!

:thanks: Thanks experienced moms for all your comments. There is so much to learn.

We took our son when he was 4 months old. It worked well for us. He was an easy going baby and I was breastfeeding. He would sleep in the stroller or someone would get a drink and sit in the shade with him while the other rode the rides with my daughter. We have some really sweet photos of him with the characters-although he won't remember- we always will!!!
GO AND ENJOY!!!

I don't think you're delusional at all! OUr daughter was 5 months when we took her last year and she literally slept through most of it!

Here is our trip report complete with images if you're interested:

Nope just put the brakes on make sure he is buckled in and use sun screen.

We took my DS when he was 9 mos old and he had fun. He loved the parades, and use the baby care centers!

Have fun

I'm so jealous! We're leaving for WDW next Thursday and DH just put his foot down about taking DD3m. She's going to stay with my mom and dad but I wish she were going with us sooooo badly!

We just got back from a trip with our six week old. It was great - hot, so we spent a lot of time at the hotel by the pool, or indoors on air conditioned rides or at the baby centres - tried them all - really great - the best one is at MK. Keep baby hydrated - easy if you are breastfeeding - don't try to do too much or overdo it at the parks. Ask CM's for help if you need to find a quite place to feed the baby. Having family around helped too, they took DD off when baby and I needed to rest or escape the heat. Missed doing some stuff with her but still had a wonderful time. Sunscreen is probably not going to work on a three month old - ask your pead. We used thin knitted cotton blankets to shade baby instead which were nice because they still let the breeze through. Make sure you stay hydrated too - take LOTS of water with you to the park - a bottle an hour would be a good estimate. HAve a wonderful time. Congratulations!

leighe - can you get DH to reconsider at this late date? I just know I would have been miserable without my little man.

Thanks agian for the info.

Alysa~We're aqueezing in our 3rd trip on our APs so park time is not really a priority. We're going to be at BCV so we'll walk to Epcot, look around and when hot or tired head back to the villa for a rest. The only must do is EE at AK :)

We were at BCV too! We had two two-bedrooms and LOVED the kitchen - it made breakfasts and lunches after naps for DD much better. And we did EE too - my Mum watched the peanuts while we went on with my Dad - GREAT ride! Have a blast!

We're staying in a studio this trip and a 2 bedroom with my parents at Xmas. We say we want to stay in studios as long as possible because I fear once we go 1 bedroom we will never go back. :)

Alysa & dsneygrl - We were in a 1BR at BWV with our 5mo DD last September and LOVED having the villa amenities. It is trips like those that make me love DVC even more!

Have a wonderful & relaxing trip!

i'm going with my 8 month old in 2 weeks. can she go on small world, carousel or anything like that?

With and infant the washer dryer at the 2 bedroom is a great convenience. When I traveled to WDW with my kids that young we stayed with friends and I did lots of laundry!

Alysa - I so wish he would but he is just adamant about it.

We took DD#3 last Sept, she was exactly 12 weeks. It was so easy. She hung out in her Bjorn and slept. I bought Huggies swim diapers and she took a few dips in the pool. I used the Baby care centers in the parks and nursed her on the back row of many of the rides and shows. Such an easy age. I don't think it will be quite as easy on our next trip, she'll be 15 months.

A little tip: Where are you staying? We were in a 1 BR @ BWV. I had a hard time getting her in the pack & play without waking her up. I'm short and it was hard for me to bend over that far. I took the cushions off the sofa (kids were using the pull-out) and they were a perfect fit into the pack & play and raised it up enough for me to get her in it without waking her. If you take your p&p you probably will have the bassinet but those at the resorts do not.

Have a great trip!!!
