and why?

we stayed at Windsor Hills last year and loved it. these were the features that stood out for us: nicely decorated, themed bedroom for the kids, priviate pool, great location.

we would be happy there again, but don't want to overlook other places if they are just as nice and offer the same or similar features.

Hi, both are great location so two main issues IMHO.

First is the home itself...furnishings, king beds, tvs, decor, number of bathrooms (key for a large family or group) and so on. This is the same factor at either community. Once inside the home, either community is the same.

Second is amenities. IC does not have the big central pool with all the fluff in the clubhouse with movies, games etc. If that is a big deal then WH is the place. Otherwise it is a trade off based on price and in home features...again, my opinion only....Ted

We've stayed at both and do prefer Windsor Hills just because it has more of a resort feel, it's newer, gated.
Indian Creek isn't gated, older homes (which is ok if they've been looked after), didn't have the same vacation feel as Windsor Hills.
I would stay in Indian Creek again if the home was nice and price was right.
We had stayed in WH 3 times in a row and guess we got used to it. :)

May I ask in what homes you´ve been staying in WH? I´m looking through all kinds of offers and I´m totally lost.:rotfl:

I have to agree with Sympatico's assessment. IC is a little scruffier looking than WH but, depending on the home, both can be very nice.

One extra note: there is now a new(ish) highway running right next to IC. It is not too noisy but obviously not as quiet as if there were nothing. Also, I believe there is still some construction going on at WH. This may or may not impact your stay (I have not read any complaints). If you stay in a townhouse or condo they are nowhere near the construction.

Good luck with your search.

We stayed in these two townhouses:
http://www.vrbo.com/69056 very nice, great people to deal with
http://www.vrbo.com/87136 basic but clean, nice people
We stayed in this 6 bedroom home:
http://www.vrbo.com/82681 nice, Ana is sometimes hard to get in contact with because she travels a lot but she was very nice. Games room wasn't as well equipped as some but ok. The house was only a couple of months old when we stayed last year.

The only thing that ever prevented us from renting in IC is that pool heat there was slightly higher and we love pool heat. I think it's gas vs. electric. This was a few years ago, I don't know if things have changed since then. (We bought a timeshare in 2005.)
If pool heat is important to you, be sure to calculate that into your total price when comparing. :goodvibes

We visited friends at 2 different homes in IC and both were nice. WH wasn't built then so we had been staying in WP and Rolling Hills.
hth! :goodvibes

We were at Indian Creek last May. We went over that "highway" everyday, and wondered what the heck it was?!? I think the last day we were their, we saw someone on it and figured they were lost!!:lmao:
