For those who have had RSV, how long did it take you to get it out of your system?

My son had it when he was three and was in the hospital for three days. Other than a cough and hearing stuff in his lungs, it never slowed him down, which made being the hospital more difficult.
No idea when he fully recovered because it never slowed him down. He had asthma and was on nebulizer treatments from age 2 to age 5 when he seemed to out grow his asthma. He is 38 now and he mentioned his asthma at his last physical and Doctor said he would have never known he had had asthma.

RSV has become much more of an issue in the past few years, particularly among adults and elderly. At the time you're talking RSV was a childhood concern. Personally I'll be relieved when I'm eligible for the vaccine.

I had to wear a mask to my appointment this week because the hospital system made it policy due to the rise in respiration illness in the area. I had been taking congestion relief and Claritin since December. I have never smoked and not really into alcohol except certain holidays and vacations. However, I will have trouble fighting colds and viruses while my body has internal inflammation from several auto immune issues plus being overweight in addition from stress and whatever I got last November.
If you need insurance, check to see if you qualify for medicaid to help get services and tests or the Healthcare exchange. You need to try to eat healthy if possible and drink plenty of fluids plus rest.
