For those who have dined at both 'Ohana and California Grill during Wishes Fireworks

I prefer the atmosphere at California Grill for the fireworks. Plus our last meal (Oct)at 'Ohana was very bad, so I can't recommend it right now. I do think it would depend if you are bringing kids or not. 'Ohana is more geared toward children, and CG toward adults. Good luck!

Odds are not good that you will get a view of wishes from 'Ohana. If the goal is to see the show during dinner, I would not book this restaurant. I also agree with the pp, our August experience there was horrendous. We are not going back soon, and thus was a family favorite.

If you want to see Wishes from outside the park, I would suggest CG if you have never been. The vantage point is the best.

We choose Narcoossees at the Grand lately, but you could book and gf restaurant and then after dinner head to the porch at Narcoossees to see the water pageant and wishes.

There is no guarantee at 'Ohana that you would get a table with a view of Wishes since most tables do not have a good view of the MK, so if seeing the fireworks while you are dining is important I would not choose 'Ohana. If you want to eat at 'Ohana and still see fireworks have dinner early enough to go outside and watch them from the Poly beach. I'd make a reservation about 2.5 hours before fireworks are scheduled because 'Ohana often runs behind schedule when seating.

California Grill has some tables with a view of Wishes and outdoor decks on either end of the restaurant with an outstanding view of the fireworks so even without a view table you are guaranteed a place to see Wishes. Servers are used to many going outside for the fireworks so let them know and they will pace your meal accordingly. CG's menu is more sophisticated than the all you care to eat family style 'Ohana meal.

We've dined at both and have enjoyed our meals at both restaurants, but if seeing fireworks is important, then choose CG or an early dinner at 'Ohana. I would look at the menus on allears, wdwinfo or the Disney World dining reservation site to help make a choice.

We've watched Wishes twice from 'Ohana. We never had a window seat, but the dim the lights and turn on the music and as long as you can see the back windows, you get a pretty good view.

any input would be greatly appreciated :)

are you a DVC member?? i would actually recommend going up to the Top of The World Lounge at Bay Lake Tower for fireworks! They pump the music during the firework show as well and it's the best seat in the house I personally think! Ohana has a lot of trees but you can definitely get a great view. Cali Grill has a beautiful view as well

Between the two, California Grill offers a far superior view. Even if you manage to get a table by the window at 'Ohana, the view isn't fantastic. I much prefer dining earlier at 'Ohana and then walking down to the beach at the Polynesian to watch Wishes.
