Have you found it is a time of year when a lot of illnesses (flu bugs, intestinal viruses, etc.) are passed around at Disney?

Well ... that time of year is bad to begin with. Add thousands and thousands of people from all over the country in one place and sure, you'll get some viruses passed around. In fact, you'll get the crud that is "going around" in California and you're from New York ;) I go to WDW 2-3 times a year and always around Christmas. I sometimes come home from WDW with a cold-type virus. I had an intestinal bug a couple times. I try to use a small container of Purell when I go to WDW, but since it's not already a habit I get lax and forget to use it. I just don't worry about it much. If I get sick, then so be it.

Christmas time Year before last my mom and I got so sick with the flu we ended up in the ER,
This past Christmas we took airborne with us, and didnt get sick the entire trip, we did run out of airborne though a few days before we left and we went to walgreens, they said the entire state of florida had run out,
So I would buy lots of it before your trip,
I think you can get sick anytime at WDW but I do believe late November thru december are the months ive seen the most sick people.

Nope...we've never gotten sick from WDW. However, last Christmas I was pretty sick when I went....had to rely on my advil cold and sinus religiously all week. Not the best trip for me....

We have been several years at that time, and none of our family has ever gotten sick. I do carry around wipes and hand sanitizer with us each day in the parks. I always make my kids wipe hands with the wipes and then sanitize each time we go to eat. We also take multivitamins and extra vitamin C daily. We have never taken the Airborne.

We have been to WDW at Christmas time several times and have only gotten sick once. It may have been the flu or food poisoning, we're not sure which. It didn't ruin our vacation, though it did make for a rough couple of days. Just remember that it is crazy everywhere at that time of year and there are sick people everywhere as well. Like a previous poster said we take multi-vitamins, extra vitamin C and make sure to get enough rest and eat well balanced meals and you are doing all that you can.

Just relax and enjoy your trip, throw some Purell in the backpack and have a great time at WDW. It is wonderful at Christmas!!
