Looking at probably 30 people (although I am sure some will not come). I know an escape wedding is for 18 or less, but what if you have just a little more than that.

What locations can you have the ceremony at?
Where can you have the receptions?

I would like some ideas on a small, affordable wedding, and if anyone would like to post their budgets that would be greatly appreciated. Details are appreciated as well.

My whole family is going in Aug. and we were thinking of getting married on a beach here in NJ, but then thought if my whole family is going then maybe we should invite the rest of the family and just have it there in Aug, and then we could do our honeymoon and maybe my family could take DD on some evenings so me and fiance could do some things.

Also is it wrong to have people pay for rooms and air?
And is it crazy to get married in Disney in Aug heat?
And what happens if there's a hurricane and we end up getting stuck in Newark when we are supposed to be saying our vows?

Right now, Disney is letting you have an Escape Wedding with 19 to 23 guests if you pay an extra $500. If you have more than that, you are required to do a Wishes Wedding, which comes with a minimum expenditure of $10,000 in 2009 and $12,000 in 2010.

The good news about that is that the answer to your next two questions (What locations can you have the ceremony at? Where can you have the receptions) is "just about anywhere" whereas an Escape Wedding is limited to one of five locations.

All the basic location info for Escape events can be found on the official Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings site: http://www.disneyweddings.go.com/site/wed/int/start/index.jsp

The Wishes site lists many of the possible locations, but not all: http://www.disneyweddings.go.com/site/wed/cus/start/

We had a small (34 guests) affordable wedding, the details of which you can read by clicking the "PJ!" and "Wedding!" links in my signature.

I posted our budget in this thread, which has a lot of other peoples' budgets in it: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2182201

No - most people do not pay for their guests' room and air unless they can afford it. Sometimes you hear of them paying for certain family/friends for whom it would be a hardship, but it is definitely not expected.

we had a wishes wedding last year with 18 guests and everyone loved it, like carrie we stuck very close to the min spend

We had the ceremony at the pavillion, reception and the whitehall room and patio and then a dessert party at uk lower in epcot

I had the same wedding as Sarah, I had 18 guests and had it at the Wedding pavilion, Whitehall Room and had a dessert party at Sago Cay Point. I spent around $10,500 which was the nearly exactly the minimum. Plus if you choose an inside location, you don't need to worry about the August heat.

I went to your PJ and found the pics, so pretty!! Loved the orange and the blue on the chairs, very nice touch. You look so lovely! I would love to do something @ WS. Thank you for your help, will be lurking and posting on here until we figure something out. If a disney wedding doesn't happen for us then a 10 day poly disneymoon will haha.

But I am trying to be reasonable, it seems as though if I got married here or there; money wise I don't think it would make MUCH of a difference.

I am sorry, I also wanted to ask....
If I were to have an Escape Wedding with the max. amount of people, then I cannot have a reception somewhere? I was looking though the wishbook and there is no place to add reception options.
Thanks!
