What airport do you fly out of?
What do you love about the airport?
What do you not like about the airport?

I don't mind driving a few hours for price and convenience. I've flown out of Buffalo, Rochester, Jamestown (NY) and Pittsburgh Airports. I like the size of BUF and ROC and the prices are pretty good.

Columbus OH. It's about 2 hours to any major airport from where I live & they fly non-stop to Orlando. It's a nice airport. Easy to navigate. Parking is fairly cheap.

Our preferred airport is Syracuse, NY. Super small and easy to navigate.

We have also flown from BUF, and had a good experience there too. But we have to cross Toronto (and deal with the traffic :headache:) to get there, and its a longer journey to boot. So SYR is our preference unless fares are substantially less out of Buffalo.

We also love Syracuse airport the best. We are from Kingston and it's not very far. This year I got a flight out of Rochester for really cheap so we will see what it's like flying from there !

I must admit, I check airline prices for airports up to 6 hours away when I book flights. I haven't travelled that far yet, but probably will someday.

we are from Kingston. Canada as well. We always fly out of syracuse. But prices out of buffalo seem less expensive. May consider switching in the future.

We live about 30 minutes from driveway to check in counter from the Indianapolis airport. We are under the flight path of the airport. If I am in the window seat, and on the correct side of the plane, I can see where we live.

However, I know of people who drive to Chicago to take flights from O'Hare or Midway. My son's Spanish class did this on a trip to Spain. Not sure how much less expensive it was, though. On the way home, there was a big snowstorm, and they had to stay an extra night in a motel/hotel in Lafayette, about an hour and half from home. But, the weather was so bad, they could have been stranded at the airport in Indy instead.

We always check both. Three trips have been cheaper out of SYR. One has been cheaper from BUF. I would guess it depends on the dates you are travelling, and when you buy your tickets. If you are in Kingston (we are in Belleville...hi neighbour :wave2:) then SYR will be a MUCH easier journey for you than Buffalo. If you are travelling during a time when whether could be an issue, I would say it would be worth paying a little more to fly from somewhere much closer to home.

Akron Canton airport is a nice airport. Cheap parking, small airport.

Last time we flew out of there I noted what time we parked the car. It took a total of 25 minutes to get out of our car, ride the shuttle van to the airport, checked in at the ticket counter and got through security. Not bad.

We too will travel to surrounding airports if the price is right. We found a good flight out of Detroit a few years ago and coupled it will an overnight stay- had enough Starwood points for a free hotel stay- and also got to go see a Tigers baseball game too.

We fly out of SYR and we like the direct flights to Orlando from Syracuse. We're only about 15 to 20 minutes away.

Although I have never used this airport, I would consider Flint-Bishop Int'l (FNT) on my next fly-drive because Southwest runs a very competitively priced nonstop to Orlando. In 2008 I went nonstop from Detroit Metro on AirTran, a great deal, but that was back before the airlines began charging every fee they could think of. AirTran still offers a nonstop from Detroit as long as you okay with baggage fees and whatever else they do these days. They weren't doing that in '08. I believe there is also a Southwest nonstop out of Detroit. If so, it's probably priced about the same as from Flint.

We are flying from Flint for the first time in dec for our xmas trip. We paid $102 each way to tampa.
