What did you use to stick the ribbon to the card. I am making a sample with the actual paper I received from Cards and Pockets and will be using a ribbon around the outside and was wondering what is the best thing you used to attach the ribbon to the card. I tried Elmers glue but it seems to seep through the ribbon. I was going to use the stickey stuff you use for scrapbooking but was wondering if you used that did it work on the ribbon. Our wedding is in November but am planning on making the outside of the invites soon and I just want to make sure the ribbon does not come off.

Thanks,
Linda

I used a mini glue gun - but you have to have a thick ribbon. The first time I did it, I used a very sheer ribbon. Big mistake. Then, I got a thicker ribbon and used a glue gun. It was fun and that sucker aint moving!!!:rotfl2:

I used double sided tape. DST became my friend on this project. the tape for the ribbon was used on 3 different sections. The front had two and the back had one in the middle

Here is how mine came out....

I used crazy glue on mine, but hd embellishments or something covering up where the glue spot actually was. When I was at Archiver's the other day (it's a scrapbboking chain), I mentioned I was having trouble with this offhand and the lady helping me told me to try out these glue dots they have. I got some but haven't gotten around to trying them yet. She did an example for me right there in the store, though, and it looked fab!

Thanks for the suggestions. I thought about a glue gun but thought it make a raised mark where you ran the line of glue. Double sided tape is a great idea. Bouncy bounce you invites look great. Love the color. I might also have glue dots at home - I used to scrapbook but it just got so time consuming I haven't done it in a while but I have lots of supplies left over.

Thanks for everyones quick response. It is amazing how wonderful everyone is on these boards.

We are taking the autotrain down to Florida for our planning session and I am ordering all our supplies today and I figured I could work on them on the train as it is a 16 hour ride. I am not going to print the side inserts until after our planning session but I could get the rest of the invite put together.

I used glue dots- they are great and I only put it on the ends. I nmy scrapbooks I use glue lines to glue down the whole ribbon, they are made by the same company and work great- in fact I am using them for my petal cones--for the ribbon and to close them.

I think it depends on the direction of your envelope and how you want your ribbon (vertical or horizontal). I'm going to use either dst or a glue gun but my sil made 2 slits in the back of her invitation, pulled the ribbon through and then tied the ribbon in a bow
