We are driving from MD on March 25th and stopping in Savannah and will stay at a hotel on the Gateway Exit 94. Last Aug. we used my hubby's hotel reward points to stay at a Country Inn and Suites. He doesn't have enough for that same hotel but he has enough Hilton and Marriot rewards. It would take 30k Hilton points to stay at the Hampton Inn but only 15k Marriot points to stay at Fairfield Inn or 20k points to stay at SpringHill Suites. Has anyone stayed at either?? Any feedback would be appreciated. It would be myself, hubby and 16 year old. Just need a clean place to shower and sleep. THANKS SO MUCH.

I've stayed at the Fairfield Inn at Exit 104 closer to the airport, had no problems with it. There's tons of other choices at that exit, but I'm a Marriott guy and don't mind spending a little extra to get a clean place to stay. I also like the free breakfast that the Fairfield offers.

I'm making the drive to FL this weekend, hoping to make it Savannah again Friday night. Check back with me and I'll give you my update!

We stayed at the Fairfield inn at exit 94 several years ago. Have always found Marriott chains to be clean and comfortable. I don't think you can go wrong at either the Fairfield or the Springhill.

OP - I ended up making great time on my drive, so I made it all the way to FLA on Friday. Sorry that I couldn't give you an update in what the hotels in Savannah are looking like these days!

Well THAT IS GREAT NEWS TOO. I am glad you made it there in one day. :)

I've stayed at both and both are comfortable, have free breakfast, and nice staffs. The FI is a bit quieter in general as it's not right next to the highway.

If you're staying on points and want to stretch your points, I've found the Fairfield Inn & Suites Hinesville-Fort Stewart to always be the best at 7500 points a night. It is one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at for the price. It's further south at exit 76 and it is about 14 miles in route 84 from I-95, but the value and quality has made this my stopover in GA if I can't make it all the way in one drive.
