We will be staying for our first ever LONG TRIP. WE use a car service with a grocery stop along the way. So we usually load up on waters, soda, snacks, a few breakfast grab and go items, but we are there like a week or a little over. This will be totally different for us. Has anyone used a grocery delivery service while on a long vacation. WE are doing a split stay so I was thinking maybe assessing what we need at the end of of our 8 nights at OKW and then ...I could call and order. Can you order over the phone or does it have to be faxed in???

I don't think we will cook BIG meals like dinners while there. I know we might make some breakfast items and maybe some quick frozen stuff for the kids after swimming. They are always starving. :goodvibes We will eat out at least once a day if not more.

Any tips or suggestions will be appreciated.

WeGoShop and Garden Grocer are two delivery services. Try doing a search in the DVC forums, there have been lots of posts about them (or even scroll back a couple pages and you'll find some info).

From what I have read, if you want to call in during your trip then I might suggest WeGoShop.

WE use garden grocer and have had a great experience.

We've used WeGoShop many times and have been very pleased with their service. If you place a second order with them again while still at Disney, there is no deleivery charge.

We've used wegoshop.com twice. We've had a great experience with them. They are very reliable. We gave them our cell phone number and they called when they were on the way with our delivery. Just don't forget to tip your shopper.

We have also used wegoshop.com several times. She was right one time and had everything I asked for!!

She also will shop at the store of your request.

Is wegoshop.com worth it if we're only staying a week? We are Diet Coke addicts and I've read you can take food into the parks. I see that the delivery fee is $17. About how much is the shopping fee. Thanks!

As a fellow Diet Coke addict I sympathize! :drinking1

The $17 is for shopping and Delivery. WeGoShop has a flat fee for the service plus the actual cost of the groceries (including sale prices), where GardenGrocer marks up their groceries to cover their fee. I would be very curious which one is actually cheaper in the end.

I don't know which resort you are staying at, but there is a little place I learned about that had better prices than the Disney Food stores like the one by the Boardwalk resort. There is a Hess Gas station at the entrance of the Boardwalk Villas and Boardwalk Inn. It is within easy walking distance of the bus stop and can add a little variety to your convenience store level food shopping.
