Which do you prefer, and why?

Trying to decide between week-long passes to the two parks for our August trip. DH and DS love thrill rides, I definitely do not. Lazy rivers and wave pools are my friends ;) .

Our resort is closer to Aquatica, but Wet N Wild is still very close.

I wish the Disney waterparks would offer a 7-day or length-of-stay pass similar to their offsite competitors!! But at $40+ per person per day, its a no brainer to choose Wet N Wild at $45 for the week or Aquatica at $60 for a Monday to Friday pass.

Would love to hear your opinions!

I'm afraid I can't answer about those two waterparks. Haven't been there yet.

Are you purchasing Disney tickets for your August trip though? Because if you are, you can add Disney's waterparks option for about $50/person and get the same number of entries as the parks. Ie, 5-day park ticket would also give you 5 days waterpark. 6-day park ticket gives 6 days waterparks.

You might already know that, but I thought I would mention it in case you did not realize.

Aquatica looks fun. I can't wait to visit it one day!

Nope, not heading to Disney on this trip. Trying to stay away from the theme parks in all that heat  and stick to other activities. This is supposed to be our "relaxing" vacation (lol, we'll see how successful we are on that score!! :rotfl2:).

We are considering another day at Discovery Cove....this time without the dolphin swim, as we just did that on January 1st. If that's the case, then we will get a week at Aquatica for free as part of the DC ticket package.

If we don't go for DC again, then we'll have to decide between W&W and Aquatica, as we will have the flexibility to purchase either park. Just wishing the Disney waterparks could be part of the decision as well! I love the theming of the Disney parks.....it just makes the whole experience that much better. Which is why I lean toward Aquatica....yet they don't have the selection of thrill rides like Wet N Wild. D'oh!

Oh, decisions, decisions!!!

We picked Wet n Wild a couple years ago and wish we hadn't. We found the park really dirty and the waitlines for the trill slides really slow-moving.

Aquatica is amazing. We like it better than the Disney waterparks. Clean, spacious, 2 wave pools, a lazy river plus a rapids river (use a life jacket and you'll love it). Tons of slides for the thrill seekers. But where did you see the 60.00 offer? That's a great deal!

That's exactly the feedback I was looking for!

This is copied and pasted from the Aquatica website:

Aquatica Weekday Pass

•Play side-by-side with the sea at Aquatica with a 2012 Aquatica Weekday Pass.
• Enjoy unlimited weekday (Monday- Friday) access to Aquatica through December 31, 2012 for only $59.99 per person ages 3 and up.
• Does not include admission to select special events, parking, or discounts on food and merchandise.
• Non-transferrable and non-refundable.
•Not valid with any other offers.
•Or purchase an Annual Pass to get great benefits like free parking
.

It is under the Florida resident section, but a quick email to Aquatica confirmed that non-residents can also purchase the pass. :woohoo:

I was just worried that Aquatica would sacrifice thrills for theming (where W&W has no theming but the thrills, KWIM?). Aquatica gets much better reviews on TripAdvisor as well. I am thinking that our decision might be made!

And then I bet you will choose this one for good! So nonresidents can buy that pass?!?! What a find. We are there for 12 days and if weather is as awesome as last year we'd go twice but not for $90 each.

I also recall that as you walk the park there are staff showcasing reptiles and birds that you can talk to. It's overall a great time. I don't do the big slides - but I don't see the teens all day (except when they want to eat). But do go in the rapids lazy river - with a life jacket (otherwise you will get tired). It's a hoot. Can't wait to go.

We love aquatica to, and we are debating the same thing for March! Aquatica or Wet n wild! We have done Aquatica 2 years in a row now, and we thought we might try wetnwild for something different, but my girls are only 10 & 12, so I don't know! Then you brought up the $60, looked at it thought it was only for FL residents, stopped looking, then you said we could get it as well! Now I am back to "what to do?" I love that they can do there own thing at Aquatica, we don't (my hubby and I) like big rides, so stick mostly to the lazy and rapid river. I agree with pp if it is as nice as last March, the water park was great! Ahhh decisions. Do you have to buy the $60 pass online, or can you buy it at the park?

You can definitely buy the pass, even as a non-resident of Florida. I just called and spoke to Sam at the Customer Service Center for SeaWorld/Busch Gardens/Aquatica, and he confirmed it for me :thumbsup2 . He said the pass is featured on the Florida residents page as that is the main group they are targeting for that product, but that it is open to everyone for purchase (regardless of where you live).

Not sure if its available at the park or not, though. So sorry.....I should have asked for you!

I think if you see on wet and wild's website, under tickets and under out of state visitor, you will see that the Length of Stay Pass is for 48.99 + tax. Thanks to this post, I think we might try something different this time around. Though we have to stay at Disney due to DVC but might still be worth the drive:)

Thanks OP for this:thumbsup2

We have been to Aquatica, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. All these waterparks are great, but I would have no problem highly recommending Aquatica. It is a great park!

The W&W length of stay passes are a very attractive deal.....that's what is making our decision so hard :headache: . They are cheaper than the Aquatica passes (a savings of $33 plus taxes for our family of 3), and they are valid all 7 days of the week (where Aquatica is Monday to Friday only).

Yet I love the thought of the SeaWorld theming of Aquatica (where W&W appears to have no theming at all).

lol, can you tell I'm not so good at decision making? :rotfl:

I think I'm leaning toward Aquatica though.....it gets far better reviews and its closer to our resort as well.

But that said, I will probably change my mind 10 more times before August!!!!

Thanks for the great feedback!!!! I would totally love to visit the Disney waterparks some day......too bad they didn't offer a multi-day pass like the off-site waterparks do.

On facebook I have myorlandodiscounts.com, I have ordered the coupon book from them and got it very quickly. Anyhow they have tickets for wet n wild for $51.99 including tax for length of stay 14 days, or for $63.69 it includes the meal deal ( I am waiting to hear back from them what the meal deal consists of) but they said it is included for the full 14 days! Can't beat that!

Potentially 14 days of meals for less than $12? Wow....that almost sounds too good to be true. Do let me know if that turns out to NOT be an error......I have a 16 year old son, and he can eat $12 worth of food at a waterpark in 10 minutes, let alone all day (and over multiple days). That kind of a savings would definitely sway me from Aquatica to Wet & Wild.

The meal deal is only included once on the multi-day ticket. I actually emailed them this morning and received the following reply:

"Good Morning :)

The meal ticket is just a one day/one time use ticket; it includes
choice of one hot dog, hamburger or personal pizza with chips, soft
drink and dessert.

Please let us know if we can help you with any other information or attractions.

Thanks,

MyOrlandoDiscounts.com"

Which is what I had thought must be the case. So.....I am back to leaning to Aquatica again!

Yes they emailed me this morning as well, that is why he would know the answer so quickly today! He told me last night (Troy) he thought it was everyday. I am back to leaning towards Aquatica to, it is so close to our resort, we could go for a couple of hours then go back to the resort for lunch and go back if we wanted to!
