For those of you with a family of 5, how many points do you have and how many times do you go?

We are a family of 5. Children now range from 16 - 26. We bought 250 Direct points at BLT back in 2009. Obviously our kids were 12 years younger back then.

The plan was for a week long vacation each summer. The 250 points would just about do that in a 2 bedroom suite. A late summer trip one year, and an early summer trip the next. We would get an AP with the DVC discount basically every other year. At the time, we lived on Long Island, and Disney was basically a plane ride away, unless we did a stop over with family in NC.

Three years later, we moved to Charlotte. Now Disney was an 8 hour drive. I did a bunch of traveling, thus having a bunch of hotel points. Our trips became more frequent, with the same basic week long trip in the summer, and a somewhere between 4-6 off-site long weekend trips.

With my oldest now married and not always vacationing with us, our summer trips no longer require a two bedroom suite. That gives us more points to use (such as my trip last weekend, we stayed at SSR).

Point being, life changes. So far, I would say what we have done with DVC has been very flexible. We have though about purchasing more, but life keeps getting in the way.

250 points, AKV home resort. We used to go once a year and stay in 1 bedrooms but now we are on an every other year schedule and stay in 2 bedrooms for around 2 weeks at AKV or OKW.

75 points currently. We do plan to have 150-200 eventually. We stay in a 1 bedroom every other year for 5 nights. We like to travel to other places too. Disney is a part of our lives, but it's not our whole life.
