We MAY or may not get rid of one of our add ons.

For those of you who have sold all or part of your DVC who did you use and why?

What were your experiences?

Thanks in advance. :D

i am not sure how other brokers handle commission on add-ons, but TimeshareByResale (Shontell's company) did not charge the customary $1.5k minimum commission for add-ons less than 150pts.
it was just a flat percentage commission for contracts under 150pts.
it recently went up though, i don't know what the new rate is.

in any case, she is very helpful and professional. contact her and she'll send you info about selling DVC.

i was not in a rush to sell, but it turned out that my add-on was sold at full asking price within 2 days of listing it.

you can also try listing on TUG to do an indepedent sale. $15 pays for an ad for 3 mos. this would save you some money since you don't have to pay commission. but you will have to do more work (bargaining directly with buyer, writing up contract, submitting ROFR, contacting a closing agency to do the closing).

HTH.

We also used Shontell this past October to sell an add-on.

We considered TUG, as disneyberry mentioned, also, and even listed it for a couple of weeks, but found that most of the responses I got didn't really understand DVC, and I spent a lot of time explaining the program.

I decided to go ahead and list it with Shontell - faxed her the contract around 5:00 PM on a Thursday. By 10:00 AM the next morning, she had it sold.

She kept in great contact during the entire process, and was always available by phone or email if I had any questions.

Good Luck with your sale!

Just to clarify - how much does Shontell charge for a 150pt contract? $1500?

Thanks...

We used Shontell when we sold Vero and I would use her again in a heartbeat. Very professional, and always kept us up to date.

I spoke with someone from her office this morning.

We still aren't sure what we are going to do.

She said they charge 10% commission plus a $100 fee that goes to Disney. It all sounds so easy.

Thanks for all of the information.

I saw 150 pts. boardwalk on ebay. Winning bid was 72 dollars a point. I wasn't the seller and couldn't speak to how much aggravation it was to sell the property.

Sold 150 points at VWL within two weeks of listing it with Timeshares By Resale - -(this is after I tried to contact The TimeShare Store without any response (SHAME ON YOU!))

I am very pleased with the communication I get from Shontelle and Maggie. In fact, we are thinking of listing more points with her!!!

Yes, you pay the commission and the Disney fee, but you can negotiate the taxes, etc. It depends on how quickly you want to sell your property.

Best wishes!

Rae
