I showed up 30 minuted before hand in April last year (not a particularly busy time) and we barely got in -- had to do standing room and with young children that is not fun.

If you are staying on property, check the evening extra magic hours for MGM. Sometimes they do two performances and you may be able to just walk right in.

Fantasmic is wonderful. Is one one of DH favorites! We arrived at the show about 30 minutes before showtime, grabbed a snack, and relaxed until the show started. We didn't have to wait in line and we got great seats. Once inside, we had a lot of fun just people watching and doing the wave. IMHO, it would be a shame to miss Fantasmic, it is truly a great show.
