Can you tell me what it is like? I need to know what type of seating there is? Is it cramped like on AirTransat? Would you recommend them on a 5+ hour flight?

I am looking to book our flight to LAX but as I have not flown on WestJet ..........

HELP!

Never flown with them Janet, but will be once and probably twice next year. Way I look at it is the savings are worth a bit of discomfort.
Talked to one of the guys in my office that used to work out in Kamloops and had to fly with them all the time and found them good.
The times and price of Air Canada suck. Jetsgo is quite expensive in comparison and the seats aren't big. You can get the upgraded seats but then your price is really up there.
If it was a transatlantic flight I'd probably go for the biggers seats but for a 5 hour 15 minute flight I'll bite the bullet. $229 all taxes in is pretty good, PLUS air miles, plus they leave Toronto at 0945 hours which isn't bad, and arrive at 11:58 local time which is great.
Be interested to read any other's comments from people that have flown with them though.

Cheers,
Grumbo

I've found Westjet's seats to be pretty much the same as Air Canada, and definitely better than Jetsgo.

Hey Scratch.
DH has flown them a couple times, and two weeks ago from Hamilton to Edmonton. He's 6'4" and pretty big, and didn't mention anything, except - good flight.
He flies weekly, so I guess that says something. He likes them better than Air Canada.
They use 737's which is 3 and 3 seating, probably around 100 seats on the aircraft. It should be fine for a 5 hour flight.
Have fun in California! :D

Great news :)
Thks Amberle and Y & K. I flew Jetsgo to Vegas this summer and it wasn't particularly comfortable at all.

I guess we will give them a try!

I phoned their offices and asked about the seats etc., etc.....

Very pleasant woman I spoke with and she found the pitch of the seats and which ones have the more.

But you can't get seat assignments until you check in but at least I will know to stick to rows 1 - 6 and that 11 and 12 are exit rows which have the biggest pitch but due to the fact that they are emergency exit rows, DD can't sit there.

Thanks again!

Scratch-check out America West out of Toronto to LAX-We used them to go to Anaheim last October and loved it. They stop in Vegas or Phoenix depending on the schedule. They are a charter
but very comfortable (and maybe you can get an upgrade to 1st class like we did for the long part of the flight!)

AmericaWest isn't direct though. Westjet is, which to me is a huge diference.
I think there is a $10 difference in price. For the convenience of direct personally I'd take WestJet.

Flown West jet many a time and never had a complaint. Neither have any business associates. As a matter of fact, I can hardly wait until they start the Orlando run from here in Winnipeg.

Used it for the very short flight from Ott-Tor and thought they were very good. Leather seats and cheery personnel. I'm on the big side so it was a bit tight but not too uncomfortable. Any "normal" size person would have more than enought space.
